Is it possible to flash NVidia vbios wile running on the cpu gpu? Or is this unrecommended.

Hey guys, I have a m18x r2 with 675m in sli. From what I read on this post it sounds like I can use a modified 580m vbios to get more options on my cards? Is this correct? I wound like to try to play with the voltages to get a bit more out of the cards.
