I have an alienware 14, I only recommend alienwares because of the build quality. If you compare specs, they are almost the same but clevo is just a tad bit cheaper so more bang for your buck. Also, everyone is right, Dell support is great.

Why not look into a mSATA ssd since the Alienware 14's have a slot for it? You would not have to replace your original hard drive and you will be able to use both hard drives at the same time for more storage.

I currently have the samsung evo and it is flawless. Had it for just about four months and no problems(thank god). Anyways, upgrading to a SSD is always great. My boot time is less then 20 seconds

Are you updated to recent bios's? If not give that a try and redownload the Killer drivers.

Not always the case. I have had few nvidia drivers over time where it has decreased fps in games such as csgo, league of legends.
