but i saw someone had sata3 in earlier version bios without limited.

and this is my issue msata just sata2 ,cannt be sata3.

m14x r1 can use msata insata3 by A08 or someothers unlocked ,if you want use ssd you may have to change the drive

you can put 2 8gb it no problem but this is the highest nican not get higher i use samsung 2 8g ddr3 1600 and works very well

it is ok you can remove it and put ssd in it but you must make sure you will not use the dvd unless you take it anywhere ti change it ,you can also buy a dvd drive outside sothis can sovle your problem

you can ghost your os and try a new os and drivers and also if you have a new mainboard can change to see if it solve the problem try all these you maybe can find the problem

i suggest Samsung 840 msata 120g it isvery good and score it high but i used Intel 525 60g it no problem and 12seconds to start windows
