  1. From what I gather the 680M is an intentionally crippled card that Nvidia released in order to merely unlock the extra voltage/clocks and re-release the same chip as a new "higher tiered" card such as is the 680MX that was recently introduced. So that said...yes flashing the overvolted bios will net you a huge performance increase. I was able to do a little better than your current clocks on the stock unlocked bios, but I am now running the 1.05V bios and for benchmarking will push +382 on core and +350 memory netting me 3Dmark11 scores around 8400..... I game at around 1000mhz and never see temps get above 80 unless I'm pushing the Crysis 3 beta at max which I saw temps hit 90! Which is a question I had for you SVL7.. I noticed that the throttle threshold was 90? It seemed the temps would "bounce" from 89 and when it hit 90 the game would stutter till the temp came back down that degree again.. it might have been placebo affect but the cards temps would not go any higher, and I of course did not want to utilize my accidental warranty so soon haha. Again this only happens in Crysis 3 running all settings maxxed.
  2. First off I have been lurking around these forums for awhile now and want to thank our resident vbios wizard for all the effort and help he has shared with this community..without his genius we might all still be stuck with our intentionally crippled cards haha! A donation is on its way good sir. I flashed the Dell vbios in the first post last night, immediately threw up +320/+500 on my m17xR4 3610-8gb ram-680m and just pulled a P8301 3DMark11 while barely breaking 70C!! Mind=Blown :bananapowerslide:My previous high with stock bios was P6187! I was really surprised to pull a +8000 on stock voltage and gaming has greatly improved, I saw 10+FPS in Far Cry 3 while gaming stable over an hour last night. Can not imagine pushing this beast with one of the higher volts but see no need right now.. maybe for Crysis 3 haha...
  3. So is the 680mx going to be non-optimus only? If so and I have a m17x with the 120hz screen with optimus already disabled I wonder if it will be compatible?
  4. Wow $450 is a really good price even used! Considering these cards brand new are usually still $600-700.. did you find it on Ebay?
  5. So the 680MX is not going to be a mere overclocked 680M but will be able to clock up to 1.5ghz and above? Has the great Nvidia Rebadge cycle been broken??
  6. I was also curious if my 680M would be able to handle more than 2 external monitors.. I recently had 3 monitors set up working properly on a work Dell Latitude laptop but that was off a dock, and a weekend windows update somehow disabled it and we have been unable to figure out how to get it to work since...
