  1. What is the advantage of vbios modding? I know it has all the stock voltage and speed settings so you could do a pre overclock on it, but could it fix some problems like nvidia's annoying nvlmkm.sys BSOD?
  2. Hello there, I recently bought an Asus GTX 560 TI Direct CU II Top 1GB GDDR5 gpu and it doesn't work correctly. My setup: Intel core i5-560M (Acer Aspire 5741) 8GB DDR3 1066MHz ram Asus GTX 560 TI Direct CU II Top 1GB GDDR5 PE4L PM060A v2.1b 2 PSU (both give me the same problem, but not with my r7 240): FSP280-60PNA-E (PF) -Specs image: -http://images.esellerpro.com/2131/I/763/47/DSCF3617.JPG ALLIED AL 8360BTX -Specs image: -http://images.esellerpro.com/2131/I/128/990/011.JPG What is the problem? My system detects the gpu and I can install any nvidia driver from the 5XX series without any problem, the problem is after this. After the drivers have been correctly installed and I reboot the system (turn off, replace PE4L with wifi card, boot up, sleep mode, replace wifi card with PE4L), I can log in, then after 10 sec I get BSOD. Dump file screenshots: Imgur What I tried: - The HD audio config has the same HW ID as the GPU, maybe that could have been the issue, but didn't work either.Nvidia - Nvlddmkm.sys error message Different drivers: -347.71 -347.51 -347.25 Nothing worked, same for the windows 10 tech preview. How can I fix this issue?
  3. Acer Aspire 5741 (Intel HM55 chipset). Specs: i5-560M Turboclocked with Throttlestop (2.9GHz-3.2GHz) 8GB DDR3 1066MHz Ram (The ram is 1333MHz, but the hardware limits it to 1066MHz) 500GB Seagate SSHD eGPU setup: PE4L v2.1b mpcie version MSI R7 240 2GD3 LP If both eGPU adapters have 5GB/s, then a 34.6GB/s bandwidth card is unuseful since only 5GB/s is "allowed to pass" right? How can I increase my performance, because my GPU should handle FC3 easely on high settings, while I even lag at 60% of my res (1680x1050) at certain points. About the same in other games, my FPS is mostly 25-30 FPS (doesn't matter if I play on ultra, high, medium or low, it only increases when lowering resolution), exept in Minecraft (60-90FPS on ultra) or old games.
  4. How can I check my max pcie speed (I have x1 1.1 connection to mpcie v1.1), will I have more pcie speed if I buy the exp gdc (which has a x16 1.1 connection to mpcie v1.1)?
  5. @Tech Inferno Fan I have low fps in games while a desktop with the same gpu and similar cpu would get more. I have the PE4L v2.1B (mPCIe version), and I was wondering if I could gain more fps if I buy the EXP GDC. The PE4L has a x1 1.1 link and the EXP GDC would have a x16 1.1 link (correct me if I'm wrong). The PE4L can pass through max 5GB/s (2.5GB on each side), while the EXP GDC would pass through 80GB/s (16x2.5x2=80). (again, correct me if I'm wrong). My gpu (r7-240) has a bandwidth of 34.6GB/s, so the PE4L bottlenecks the max bandwidth right?
  6. So I have an acer aspire 5741 with an i5-560M and the PE4L v2.1b. My laptop mpcie supports up to v1.1. The pe4l has a x1 connection, which is less nice. GPUz tells me: MSI Radeon R7 240 2GD3 LP, 20% oc How much performance loss do I get with being on an x1 1.1 setup over an x16 1.1 setup?
  7. Hello there, I have the PE4L for a while and I like it, but it has some trouble. When I watch youtube vids I can only watch smoothly at 720p, at 1080p it has low framerate. My specs (acer aspire 5741): i3-350M 8GB DDR3 1066MHz PE4L v2.1b PM3N + R7 240 MSI LP 2GD3 On my iGPU I can watch 1080p without problems. My second problem is when I boot my pc with the pe4l inserted, it turns on, then tuns off (no display). I can only do the swap trick when it is in sleep mode. How can I remove the wifi whitelist of my mPCIe to be able to boot with pe4l? Or isn't it a wifi whitelist problem?
  8. Will this software fix the "swap" trick? wit this I mean: I can only use the egpu when I boot with my wireless card and switch the card with the pe4l when laptop is in sleep mode. Can this software fix the issue that my laptop can not boot with the pe4l inserted? It is like a wirelesscard is whitelisted and nothing else can use it.
  9. check gigabyte's p35W v2 or p35X v2 series. they are about 2cm thin nice design and a lot cheaper than the razer blade
  10. I've been looking at gigabyte's P35Wv2, P25Wv2 and P25Xv2, is there any 880M SLI with an i7 and 8gb ram for 1600 euro? (and it should be max 4 cm high when lid is closed, I don't like fat laptops)
  11. testdisk is a recover program. I could recover 80% of my pictures from a RAW partitioned sd card (which was fat32 before)
  12. Since I have the pe4l, I was wondering what type usb port it has. The color is black, so I think it is usb 2.0, but since it is connected with a mpcie to the laptop, it could be v3.0 right? I can't find any info about the usb and what the use of it is. I use it for a usb wifi card and it works (except that the RT73 wifi card is extremely slow compared to my AR5B93 mpcie card). So I want to ask 2 things: 1. What is the usb version? 2. What is the use of the usb port? (except that you can plug in a usb card)
