  1. Well, from what I had experienced, too much undervolting is the one that is causing these crashes. So what I did was I just returned the voltages to the default values and the crashes stopped.
  2. Are your GPUs undervolted? My GPUs act like that also if the voltage of my GPUs are too low when loaded (i.e. when gaming).
  3. oh i see, thanks for your help. i tried setting it to UMA and the laptop wont continue booting up. so i think ultrabay needs to be removed to use integrated graphics
  4. specifically, what option in the bios disables the nvidia card? does this also work with sli laptops?
  5. On a certain point of view, we could say that it is indeed a safety feature as loading more cores generates more heat. Or that the power supplied to the processor may not be enough to load 3.6 for all cores.
  6. OCing to 3.6 will only work when one core is loaded, if all cores (4) are loaded, the processor will boost up to 3.4 only; therefore, your laptop is working normally. Just make sure to check your temps when overclocking.
  7. @Jerenny When i flashed the modded bios, my clocks were at 1098 by default
  8. @svl7 Did an hour of gaming with 1V for both ultrabay and main GPUs. No crashing happened within that hour. Take note though that I left the clock values at their defaults (1098 mhz) as overclocking the main GPU crashes the driver immediately. At 1V, temps were: 91 deg max (main) and 87 deg max (ultrabay)
  9. After I updated to the new NVIDIA driver, voltage control for GPUs seem to have lost. Does anyone experienced the same thing also?
  10. Besides lowering the CPU voltage, are there any other settings I can tweak to lower my temps? Well, one advantage of using the modded bios is unlocking the voltage options for the GPU as the mod comes with a modded vbios.
  11. Successfully modded my laptop. @svl7 I'll try to see if 1V is game stable. Will update once I have time.
  12. I see. Well, my only motivation for considering the modded bios is to unlock specific settings which can lower my temps a bit if play around with it a little. Now I'm confused as to whether it really is worth it to mod the bios or not.
  13. Thanks. Yes many users suggested that replacing the thermal paste does indeed help. However, I'm limited to only playing around with power settings (undervolting...) to shave a few degrees for my system as I'm not confident in taking my laptop apart. Do you think it's better to leave my bios unmodded if I'm not willing to replace thermal paste?
  14. @unclewebb What's your current settings for throttlestop on your laptop. I am currently fiddling around with the program and I would like to know some input from other users. Thanks
  15. If I got this right, If the laptop is in 3.05 originally, it is better to downgrade first to 2.07 then apply the modded 3.05? I have the 755m SLI version so I can test the modded bios if I reached the number of posts required to download. Are there currently issues in using this modded bios?
