  1. As for now I gotta agree with Prema, however, I have a couple questions. 1. what were your temps like while playing? and 2. are you an aggressive player? I know it sounds odd but I know a couple people who slam their keyboards after a bad session. Replaced a friends mobo before because of that...not too fun.
  2. I've had the y510p sli model for about a year now and it has been great, no real issues for me. I have replaced the thermal paste with AS5 and performed the shroud mod. Always raise the back with cd cases or something while gaming and it would be a great choice for the money. My only gripe with it is the touchpad...I'd expect a touchpad like this to be on a 250-300$ laptop not a 800$+ performance laptop.
  3. I have recently bought a Lenovo Y510P from newegg and it has been great. If high temps bother you, you can do the simple fan shroud cut. Some of the reviews on newegg were pretty concerning but I bought it anyways and I have to admit that it is a darn good laptop for the price. 4. I have used a cheapo laptop cooler and the temps did not go down much...maybe 1C or 2C I have found that my laptop, Y510P 755M SLI, runs cooler with 2 DVD cases stacked under each rear foot peg, much cheaper than buying a cooler.
  5. While playing Saints Row IV on ultra at 1920x1080, I get temps in the high 60s low 70s. Keep in mind that I have done the fan shroud mod as well as repasting everything with AS5. The temps are not quite where I would like them to be at but it's better than stock. Stock temps were burning hot at mid to high 90s for the ultrabay 755M.
  6. I pop my laptop into a 16 inch Targus sleeve then place it into my padded Targus backpack. I haven't had a single issue and I have dropped the backpack a couple of times forgetting the laptop was in there.
