1. You can always disable RAID in the BIOS. There's no sense in having a RAID and non-RAID BIOS when all that is different is one option that is user-configurable. It's just more work for me. I don't know about the EC, I don't have your notebook to test it with. Although, I don't see a reason for it not to work. A simple CMOS reset is usually the answer, perhaps try it again? It should load all settings to default. Which notebook? Some notebooks don't have the Chipset tab & memory options available. If it's a 3rd gen Intel notebook then I believe that I have a work-around to the memory settings menu missing. If it's a 1st-gen notebook, you're probably out of luck (Although some 1st-gen Intel MSI's can accept the barebone BIOS which has the memory settings in a user-accessible chapter).
2. @bertox2009 I'm sorry to hear that. It looks like you've taken all logical steps to fixing the situation... resetting CMOS, recovery, external LCD, etc. Do you have any spare MXM 3.0b cards to test?
3. For your notebook just some CPU overclocking settings. The memory settings can't be accessed because "Chipset" doesn't exist. Now go make four quality posts if you want to download attachments. Haha yeah, it happens sometimes. No big deal though.
4. Start at 2:55. You basically use your fingernails to pry it out from the sides and then you pull up on the media bar.
5. Nice. I was also disappointed from options in the BIOS. Let's hope someone will figure out a way to OC Trinity.
6. I believe it's under SA -> Intel ICC -> Div2s. Sure, will get onto it. No problem. New machine huh? What are your impressions so far Meaker? ------- Done. @Meaker Andrew Persaud check the first page
7. You have to do a heatsink mod, similar to the 6970/6990m. Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using Tapatalk 2
8. Nothing, there's a ton of stuff that's just placeholders.
9. You are an elite member, you should have full permissions. Please let me know if you are having issues, @Brian can take a look.
10. Thanks. The temperature controls are through the EC and not the BIOS. I have linked a thread with the fan controller software somewhere in this thread I believe. When I have time, I'll create an encyclopedia describing what the options do.
11. The only drawback is that I have more dust stuck underneath my keys on the top left portion of the keyboard. I have also done a cooling mod by drilling a hole on the bottom of my notebook and it literally made ZERO difference.
12. Correct. Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using Tapatalk 2
13. Yes, you can fit a 720,740,820,840qm without any mods, but like I've stated above it's almost pointless unless you go straight for the 920/940XM. Otherwise you're stuck at the lowest turbo ratio for the CPU, which is 1.86ghz, but a 920/940XM can go up to 3.5ghz on all four cores if you have the cooling for it. That's literally double the frequency on four cores.
14. Yes, it is the whitebook/barebones version of the GE60.
15. Only the 920XM/940XM is worth upgrading to and overclocking via Throttlestop. The i7-7xx and 8xx cannot sustain Turbo Boost for more than a couple seconds (if even that) and are almost pointless upgrades. You can also upgrade your GPU to a 7970m if you mod the heatsink. It all depends on your reasons for upgrading. And it doesn't take much time to upgrade the CPU in almost any MSI machine (they are quite possibly the easiest and fastest to upgrade).
16. This weekend: Friday is iffy, Saturday is a no-go unless it's 10 P.M. CST or later and Sunday I'm free most of the day.
17. I own a g930; got it on amazon for $110 I believe. Overall I can't find much wrong with it besides the fact that for surround to work, the application has to specifically support DOLBY 7.1 or else you won't get true surround sound. CS:GO 5.1 works well with Dolby so it depends on the application Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using Tapatalk 2
18. Do you have any links? I'm 99.9% sure they are incompatible (there is a GPU mux with the GT70 series while the GT780 is dGPU only) and various other conflicting issues. I'm pretty sure we Sandy Bridge MSI owners are stuck without Kepler. So far the 7970m looks like the best option.
19. The 7950m doesn't exist......as far as I know.

GT683DX CPU update

So far, you cannot overclock any non-XTU, non-XM cpu laptop without jumping through hoops (and I mean massive hoops). You can OC the CPU by 3-4% through the BCLK, so don't expect anything more than 100-120mhz.
21. No. There is a reason they are separate files...
22. It's no problem, just wanted to clear things up for you.
23. The vBIOS is not the same as the main BIOS. If you want to OC your GPU, then you'll have to ask @svl7 in this thread. If you want to know what the main BIOS unlock is for then read the first post in this thread. It has nothing to do with the vBIOS/GPU.
