  1. Actually did not quite understand what you meant, I sent you a PM mate!
  2. Hey How are you guys? Yes I received my EXP GDC V6 just minutes ago but my HDD crashed, got dang bad timing! Anyone know how to fix a cyclic redundancy error? I am now using an enclosure and wanting to recover windows 8.1 without data loss (sounds like a fantasy) Any good and trusted recovery software you guys can recommend?
  3. Let me do that for you; AMD GPUs; AMD Radeon Rx 200 Series - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia NVIDIA GPUs; GeForce 700 series - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Keyword here is TDP, choose from the two camps at least MAX TDP 225 W and your good to go with a dell da-2 220 W adapter. Then comes the Bandwidth speed. Consider these two factors. - - - Updated - - - No one knows but for sure it will be realeased by the end of the year as per their answer from my mail. Don't know exactly what was the problem. Better go with EXP GDC V6, mine will arrive few days more if your wanting to start with an eGPU project right away.
  4. Whoah this looks interesting, did your PE4C V2 came with a power brick and what wattage is the rating? Interested to see your setup and benchmarks buddy!
  5. Better go with a 2K monitor then..make life easier Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  6. If you feel like doing this setup sooner why not go with EXP GDC V6? I am waiting for mine from yoybuy.com if you want to get it started with (eGPU) setup Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  7. sorry for my incoherence and unworthy contribution but this is getting me excited mate! so much rocket science for an eGPU experiment, wowzers! Keep it up!
  8. The tial-and-error adventure in this setup is what makes it exciting, you will never till you try buddy! Yes you have to wait until Q4 (what they e-mailed to me, BPlustech) cause they are doing a revision on it. Good luck!
  9. Check out Beyerdynamics, real good quality and sound signature too! Using DT 770 Pro 250 ohms
  10. Wow first world problems! Anyway, rubber feet might help or a more solid sturdy surface to place it on. Otherwise temps may be high and need more cooling and air.
  11. Wait for HDMI 2.0 and GPU 4K Optimization, hell why can't a current setup of SLI or Crossfire of GPUs reach 100 FPS?! Its all bullcrap that 4GB GPUs and dual GPU setups could not optimize 4K gaming.
  12. Correct me if I am wrong but if you have a discreet mobile NVIDIA GPU on your laptop, NVIDIA eGPU is surely the way to go to utilize internal screen mirroring via Optimus, and same applies to any discreet AMD GPU like my setup...but could not make the display run internal screen but should be projected to another monitor(no equivalent Optimus functionality for AMD)
  13. Habibi you really need to pay for it, its like a support to Tech Inferno Fan for the greatest of all his efforts and for this community.
  14. = 225w And Ilike the adapter in the topic title, I do not understand what you write aboutthunderbolt 2.0 I am correct, this 6 + 6 pin (75 watts each) If this is the case it will be 75 + 150 = 225 W (6+8 pin) but I am not sure really it depends on the cards official TDP. Thunderbolt 2 setups are already present here, just try to search for them, heck there is even an SLI of 780 ti setup with a macbook pro 15 via Thunderbolt connection.
  15. First search your preferred GPU, search it's rated TDP (wikipedia, anandtech, etc) Any GPU with TDP greater than 250 watts definitely needs an ATX power supply. Regarding bandwidth performance, its a whole different story, it can be bottlenecked by the type of PCI-e you will have, PCI-e 3.0 is the latest but sufficient enough, thunderbolt 2 will be the fastest. If you have a an NVIDIA discreet GPU in your lappy, go with NVIDIA, if AMD go with AMD. Hope that helped
  16. Wow such rocket science ya'll!! I was wanting to have that Y510p from before, Yes with your brilliant ideas I think eGPU via ultrabay will be possible.
  17. And one more thing, after researching enough regardiing the Radeon 7950 and its power consumption I found a trusted testing wherein graphs show ACTUAL POWER consumption of the GPU alone from across 6 brands and it shows that it peaks only @ 180 Watts so I believe I am safe, what a relief! Link down below; Power Consumption - Radeon HD 7950 3 GB: Six Cards, Benchmarked And Reviewed
  18. Alright thanks so much Tech Inferno Fan, keeping my fingers crossed that I can gather all the stuff and do a mini review hopefully by the end of this month, I still don't have tracking number for that EXP GDC V6 from yoybuy, and I think imma have to purchase separately that 6 pin to dual 6+2 pin pcie cable from aliexpress sheesh.. Yeah power effeciency is needed much, heck intel already is having 14nm tech on the way; AnandTech | Intel
  19. @jacobsson @Tech Inferno Fan Thank you both my eGPU gurus!! Yes this DA-2 Dell Adapter really is something! I hope it still has enough units for enthusiasts to purchase, I think there is also a 330 Watt Dell Adapter too, let me find that link. here; This might be useful for future reiterations of eGPU products for R9 290X and 780 ti GPUs, but still I forgot about the bandwidth limits of current mini PCIe ports of laptops... Amazon.com: Dell Alienware M18x 330W AC Adapter XM3C3 ADP-330AB B DA330PM111: Computers & Accessories Meanwhile Banggood might have droppped the price to compete with Yoybuy's and the rest of the other sites selling this setup since charges will be higher anyway considering the weight of the DA-2 adapter. Otherwise, they just want to "Bang Good" know what I mean? LOL Everyday I am learning new things here thanks everyone!
  20. OMG I did a little research about the 7950 I have received and why it had a combo of 6 an 8 pin connectors on it and I found this; "The Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 has one 6-pin and one 8-pin PCIe power connector located along the top of the PCB that need to be hooked up. SAPPHIRE says that the Radeon HD 7970 OC requires a 500W or greater power supply with one 75W 6-pin PCIe connector and one 150W 8-pin PCIe connector for proper operation. Read more at http://www.legitreviews.com/sapphire-radeon-hd-7970-oc-3gb-video-card-review_1962#JIMRbwSkJDLuHlu8.99" Source: Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 OC 3GB Video Card Review - Legit ReviewsSAPPHIRE HD 7970 OC 3GB Which meant that this card of mine is the OC version which is having a TDP of 225 W (6 pin -75W + 8 pin -150W = 225 W) and 5W more than the power rating of the Dell DA-2 which means that I need an ATX power supply correct?? If yes then i'mma have to break the bank again damn, so confusing since 7950 is rated at 200W and some manufacturers never specified variants of this old R9 280 card.. jeez can anyone clarify this doubt that I have? I don't want to order stuff that is not necessary for this setup, I am building a gaming mini ITX PC soon so this card is having dual purposes anyways so no biggie.
  21. Yes I figured it has a different end, also the shipping times from China worries me too, can I order it via Yoybuy.com? Can they purchase that for me like they do items from taobao?
  22. Thanks Jacob! How about this one? PCI E 6 Pin to 2X 6 2 Pin 6 Pin 8 Pin Power Splitter Cable PCIe PCI Express | eBay Is this the same item? I can get it in a better price.
  23. I just found that my Radeon 7950 is has a 6+8 pin port (strange, this must me a 7970 PCB) so I am needing a 6 pin to dual 6 pin + 2 pcie cable, problem is both links in OP for US and EU are out of stock, can anyone give me a link to anywhere I can purchase this? Most preferably in yoybuy? Will be greatly appreciated.
