Funny thing is...I can't do that overclock on windows 7 or 8, but only on windows 10. I thought it had something to do with the hpet timer, but that doesn't seem to be the case. And I think this machine translates the resisters different. Still working on the real answer. Edit: Nevermind, I can now.

Me personally would just order the right one. Less chance for a mistake. Although I'm still waiting on the new cards though. To see if they can be put in here or would i need to buy an upgraded chassis.

Let them know you have a new motherboard because you do. XMP seems to be the only way for the voltage increase. Although the M18Xr2 would let you change it in the bios, but after a crash it would reset the voltage.

More than likely it's locked on sodimms....

XTU wasn't really meant for laptops and most boards not manufactured by Intel. It was used as an improvision if you didn't have something else for your board. And since all the big names had over clocking utilites, intel decided to come with their own.
