  1. Ok running prema system bios from his website (premamod.com) Just pulled a shiny gtx980m from my p570wm now ive finished benching for today only to find its plug and play i fitted it powered up booted straight into windows 8.1 card was seen correctly in device manager and showing driver installed already.. Ran a benchmark no dramas scored as expected 12711 gpu score in 3dmark 11.. so no modded inf nonsense plug n play upgrade guys n girlies (sli gtx780m were running in this machine until swapping in the 980m) fantastic result! http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/9087922 and there is her virgin 1st run only 4300 clock on the cpu.
  2. Possible yes but hell of an expense for 3mb of cpu cache.. i strongly doubt its worth bothering with btw this is me talking myself out of anothef crimbo prezzy.
  3. i can vouch for CEG ive purchased my p570wm's slave gpu cooler 2nd psu and converter box great service and a respectable price.
  4. id love to get my hands on a 4960x but frankly i think results would be worse than a 4930k due to the 150w overhead being the limit of the 570wm 's cooling 4600 stable is what i have stable and cool.
  5. With some very helpful advise from Prema i have managed to get 4600mhz stable with very little effort runs lovely and actually runs no hotter 4400-4600 sweet spot i guess. +1 rep prema
  6. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4930K,Notebook P570WM single 980m gpu stock clocks volts and vbios
  7. Any news? Toying with picking up a used new gen m18 and using my 980m sli cards in it and selling my p570wm.
  8. Your completely right its about as fast as is available but .... rather a smaller machine i can tuck away.
  9. Ok to sum it all up having played with them some 14 hours iv'e come to the following conclusions. 1. Yes like all previous generations of nvidia cards these do infact throttle which is a pig but hardly unexpected going by the previous trend 2.Baring in mind the sheer cost of the cards are they good value for money?..... Hard one, value i have a hard time ever linking value for money and nvidia together, but its a quality product with a rediculious amount of clout. 3.is it worth the upgrade from 6XX 7XX 8XX? This is probably he most straight forward question i pondered. From solo or SLI 680m god yes no brainer really the performance hike is just huge there is no other way to sum it up. Upgrading solo 780m to 980m whilst the 780m is a fantastic card i cant help feeling its still just a huge leap with a solo 980m reaching within 10% of sli780m overclocked of course. From a 880m perspective this is the hard one....Baring in mind the cost you have already outlayed for the 880m cards, how new they are and the likely problems reselling them vs the 980m. Probably not the best move,Sli 880m is never going to come remotely close to Sli 980m performace and that's with 980ms gimped atm but still i would probably just hold off wait on a broadwell platform and 2nd gen maxwell gpu setup! Even i cant justify that kind of flippant upgrade. Do i have any regrets simple answer NO! Yes they are expensive and left a huge hole in my wallet, but end of the day i got what i paid for brand new generation top end SLI setup that is so mind bogglingly fast you need a reality check to remind yourself this is a notebook that will obliterate a lot of gamers water cooled pc's.....crazy stuff... I probably wont keep them ill mess about have some fun wit them enjoy messing and testing them whilst the bios mids evolve but really a solo 980m in a well optimimised prema modded laptop is really plenty For example ive been playing mech warrior online today for something to do and ran 140fps non stop max settings on 1 card with sli disabled i really dont see a need for this kind of power right now unless your using multi monitors.
  10. Temps are not going to be an issue 60s on my benchmark runs there 14degrees to 18 cooler idle... full tilt there nearly 28 degrees under my 780m's direct comparrison. Basically my coolings too much for requirements of maxwell adiquate for 7xx 8xx series.
  11. oh btw yes the ti market place is definately worth using far better than ebay higher standard of like minded customers its just had a clearout but was bursting at the seems of stuff ppl sold i sold a laptop on here and video card in the past 6 months. - - - Updated - - - p375sm-a ironically is what ill probably be getting to replace the p570wm my brother uses a p370sm3 and we have a p370sm love the laptop its a wonderful machine just prefer a slightly newer 1 if im downgrading.
  12. Shame your in the states coulda poped ur card in my 570 and flashed it. - - - Updated - - - what clevo do you have atm?
  13. That pretty much sums it up alienware clevo rest are soldered.... - - - Updated - - - That pretty much sums it up alienware clevo rest are soldered.... but gigabyte razer do soldered sli nothing top end but perfectly acceptable sli970 with soldered cpus :S
  14. Any luck with this? always nice to hear of an issue being resolved..
  15. Ikr... i need a new laptop - - - Updated - - - yeah, sigh i need a new machine, quite fancy a p375sm-a something a bit smaller n lighter... but id keep the 980's ill chuck 780s back in it lol - - - Updated - - - i suppose i could always break the 30k gpu score, keep me out of trouble for an hour or 2 my max score is within the 29k range and thats rock stable so ite pretty doable,be interesting to see how much more these can deliver once fully unlocked.
  16. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4930K,Notebook P570WM there is your new target beat it alienwares then i have an excuse to buy one and retire my laptop. really like the look of the m18,its growing on me and with a pair of 980m's.... drool.
  17. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4930K,Notebook P570WM and on that note life is complete wanted 22k on 3dmark 11 and ive done it i can retire from o/c and play some games
  18. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4930K,Notebook P570WM there we go ive hit my 28k gpu target and passed by a moderate margin now to break 22k overall score... gunna need a huge cpu clock for that i think.... - - - Updated - - - wish i had a 4960x to play with ><
  19. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4930K,Notebook P570WM there we go smashed 28k gpu score now to get 15k cpu score... sigh
  20. im fiddling with the cpu now trying to get more stability maxing and holding turbo without a throttle im 100% i can break 28k graphics just wanna try for my cpu i have my eyes on a possibly unrealistic overal score of 22k who knows http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/<wbr>9080589 - - - Updated - - - i <3 the way 3dmark gimps out of cpu turbo im assuming it reads the clocks in non turbo-non 3d environment sometimes which sways the figures in the specification...
  21. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4930K,Notebook P570WM slowely getting there go this things so fast its sickening... had 2nd thoughts about replacing the p570wm with an alienware.
  22. ill cap my cpu ram and gpus shortly these things are beasts..... just imagine it when thete fully unlocked 3dmark11 astek test starts at 187fps.... lol.
  23. Hmm im not seeing that a few settings where turbo multiplier is but nothing else. Ill experiment more
  24. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4930K,Notebook P570WM cpu 4300mhz ram 2133mhz sli 980m
