Does this mod happen to affect the video card fan? I never noticed mine before, but now it seems to always be running

I followed this to make mine usable. Solutions for the y510p trackpad : Lenovo I HATE non-button trackpads, but the value of this machine was too much to pass on. After more use it is still better... but the second button only seems to register randomly. Sometimes I click and click and click and it only does a left click. So horrible.

No, I have the SLI model, but don't use the SLI - ever.

Always cheaper, but not the same. I popped in another drive that works fine, but without a matching faceplate it looks horrible. I would love just finding a faceplate to be honest. I really wish they included a blank for the bay like in the old days.

Any ideas what have even changed since the 1.07 release? If nothing worthwhile has been added then it won't matter, but I can't image this many releases with nothing new. I flashed my 1.07 without issue - couldn't be easier. After work I plan to swap out the wifi card to get back my 5gz access. Thank you for this!

Sorry to bump an old topic, but was there anything specific that had to be gone to get SLI working on windows 7? When I insert my second module the system doesn't detect that there are two - the Nvidia program won't even open because it says there is no Nvidia device. I did use the latest drivers from their site as opposed to Lenovo so don't know if that matters,

I'd be curious as well. Mine came with the SLI option, but I'd much rather have the optical drive.

Any particular thing you hate? I just bought one and have a few things I'm not a fan of so far. The biggest gripe for me is the lack of a HDD light - because we really need 5 lights on the front for things, but nothing for the status of the drive. I had no idea about the locked down bios until doing some searching and I must say it is pretty bad. I have an older tablet pc that locked down the wifi card as well, but thankfully the bios was easy enough to flash for new models.

I'd love to have a working OSX setup for the y510p - I lost hackintosh access when changing laptops and have a piece of software that unfortunately is OSX only.

Tried to search and didn't see this answered, but will flashing the ultra bay SLI affect using it in a non-flashed system? I have a dual model, but am trying to sell my second card since I have no need for the extra power and I don't want to screw it up for someone else if it ends up selling. Also, it seems my machine has 1.07 - when I check the Lenovo site it shows no updates available. Is there somewhere else these are located at?
