  1. Here's my results now: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4700MQ,Alienware 01W2J2 I reinstalled 3dmark11 and it fixed it somehow. Odd. Two things to note, though, on that results page. It says my cards only have 3 gigs of memory instead of 4 gigs. Secondly, it lists the core clock speed at 324 MHz. Any ideas? Is this new score "typical" for the system, or should I be getting higher?
  2. Yes, and the screenshot I attached shows near the bottom SLI enabled. I don't know what the deal is.
  3. I did the repaste and the temps are MUCH better but my 3dmark11 score is still WAY too low. Any ideas?
  4. I'm also using the beta 326.58 drivers. Machine is Alienware 18 running dual 780Ms in SLI with 4700MQ cpu. I was actually hitting 10000 in 3dmark11 before I did the vbios flash. But now I'm in the low 6000's. Also, these cards were recently replaced by a technician from Dell. They seem to be running hot, IMO. I'm idling right now and my temp of the first GPU is 56 degrees and second is 47. They QUICKLY jump up to 90+ degrees C if I run any type of benchmark program. I know I probably need to repaste the cards, going to buy some online, don't have any extra laying around. Attached is screenshot from GPU-Z. One thing I noticed...some programs like my GPU clock speed at like 130 MHZ, and memory speed at 100. That's what I'm overclocked to, and doesn't seem to be adding in the actual value and just lists the overclocked values. Is this normal or is something wrong?
  5. I had a similar problem with an laptop a few years ago that used to run fine. I found two problems: one of the fans had a blade that was broken off, and I had no clue. Second, there was a ton of dust in it. After taking care of both of those issues, it cooled down and I no longer needed the cooling pad I had purchased (I had a cheap wal-mart one, though, so didn't spend as much as you did).
  6. Thanks for the guide. I'm really glad I followed the step and backed up my current VBIOS versions, heh. Had to restore it on one card that ended up erroring out.
  7. I had a huge hassle getting the laptop and they sent it with misconfigured parts...THREE TIMES. They upgraded me to dual 780Ms from the 765Ms it shipped with. That being said, it only has a 4700MQ processor. How much will that limit the graphical capabilities of the SLI cards?
  8. Until recently I just carried the old laptop around without anything, with the charger laying on top of it as I carried it, lol. I just bought a new Alienware 18, though, and have a Vindicator briefcase/bag to carry it in. This laptop is massive...and so is the bag!
