Thanks Brian, still have to get mumble installed. The color blind thing changed the colors but am still having issues. Might have to lower my rez from native to something lower so I can see the things above peeps heads to ID them. Wondering if I could mod the settings that display the friendly and enemy things to make it easier on me. The current color for friendly make it so I can't even read it something about that color. I got crap for it in the army but since they already had me and I was a good/great sniper they worked around that issue. If I can only find a way to work around it in this game I will be all set.

thanks brian, I feel like a noob to FPS again. I was a Pro Unreal tourmanent player and went to many tournaments with large $$$ prizes and always ended up in the finals with my team. Now I am totally lost and learning over with these new games. I finally have my binds set I hope and found the color bind assist feature set so I hope things are better in the game play for me now. Will test things out soon want to get a few rounds of UT in before I play BF3 later.

can we have friendly fire off at least for a while, I know its hard for me to always tell who is who and have shot at a few of our members thinking the different color from the rest of my team meant enemy. I guess its still different but being color blind people in my squad have the same color above them as enemy. Until I get a work around for this I don't want ot be killing my own squad. I am also going to try and use our new server to setup my key binds since I can't seem to find a way to do it without being in game. update: I found a setting to help with my color blindness. I hope it helps. I also set all my key binds in the campain mode and hope they transfer over to the online play (had some games with 2 sets of key binds).

I love the rush games, for a beginner its easier to tell what direction you need to be going and who is who on that type of set up.

I would suggest you list your full system specs and maybe even the games your trying to play. I am not big into benchin but I have a new 17x also with the same video card and I have no issue with gaming playing on high or ultra settings getting at min 40 FPS or higher and that's fraps telling me the FPS too.

I would donate no problem as long as the SGT major Wifey agrees hehe. If you need any help with this type of stuff I did run a game clan for about 2-3 years and even had a full blown web site with forums. As I am playing BF3 more then my other games right now this sounds like super fun.

I need to go into wfieys power setup and make sure all the settings are where they should be. Even with most of my system lit up I get 4 hours on battery as long as its the intel GPU not the radeon.

I will write up mine some time in the future, my story starts back in the 70s and my use and ownership of computers ever since. It also will have to have all the ups and downs over the years as that effected my computer ownership, gaming and large gaps in my tech career. The army played a small role in where I am today and got me into cyber security and out the the "hacker" world. I was and FTP pirate for a while and still have large connections with the pirate scene which DHS likes to take advantage of once in a while. Well will try and remember most of it and get something written up. Just remember if you do it online someone besides you knows it. oh and my avatar is my artwork that was part of a collection of images that was once stolen from my art gallery site and was the symbol I used.

well lets see I grew up in Merrimack, moved to Raymond and then moved to Manchester where I met the wifey. Currently we are in the lakes region living with the sister in law, we were here to wait on our accident settlement which bought 2 aliens for us and now we are waiting on spring to move into our own place in the local area. the purchase of the laptops just happened to happen this month and shipped only days before xmas so its kinda a xmas gift but more of a we needed computers and we bought the best while we could.

Thanks guys for helpin with this. Granted I have tons of tech experience this is a first for dual graphic with her Nvidia and me with the AMD 6990m and how it switches. Will be fun to learn all this stuff just have to remember we have different high end GPUs when I goto work on em.

The m14 showed up today, not even 30sec after getting in the hoise my tablet alerted me to email, my m17 is with fedex will be here tomorrow afternoon. The 14 what little time I have used it seems like a sweet machine. She will be very happy! I am very excited to see mine will be here before christmas and I don't have to look at the m14 long before mine gets here. Already have battlefield 3 and COD MW3 waiting to get installed.

Mw86, good luck with the repair. The wife and I will both be unboxing the m14. I will help her though all the setup and checking to make sure all is in order and nothing wrong with the build. Will also show her how to do a basic cleaning. Talked with dell last night my machine is in final stages so I might get lucky and see it by friday doubt it but I can hope.

That's only if she lets me touch it lol, its going to the first computer that's truly hers. I was told they would call me today with an update on the builds so maybe will get good news on getting mine. Both machines start with a ship date of the 28th then hers went to 22nd now it should be here the 20th. So hoping mine gets bumped up at least a few days. I also have a smartphone coming via,fedex today so I have a new toy for something to do lol. We have almost 12 packages coming this week and next spent mad money this past few days.

The wifes m14x shipped, should be here on the 20th. Still waiting on my m17 to ship, really hope its before christmas but will have to wait and see not that I have the ability to wait calmly.

I already have Security+ Network+ and had the Certified Computer Examiner (CCE) for a while but have since let it expire. I worked with the DHS for a few years in the Cyber Security unit and the army after I left active duty. So I have certs and years of experience.

I am lookin at becoming cert. to repair dell systems more so that I can fix my own but it would also be another cert on the wall.

I order from the web site since I had coupon codes and my system had a special going so I got about 300 off the total plus nbd shipping free which was way below the budget we set.

As some of you know on the 14th I order the wife and I alienware laptops. Well in my email I didn't see my backpack and my game price went way up. Some how the two were combined. Well I called to confirm this and all was good (I got the packs and game today) the 15th they called me to tell me that the packs were shipping and the ship date on the m14 was pushed up to the 22nd from the 28th. He also told me he will be calling me on monday the 19th to update me on the builds. Pretty sure I didn't pay for this update call service and can't say I have ever heard of anyone saying this has been done for them so has it? Is this a new service? I know my total sales was only $3600ish which for 2 alienwares isn't on the high end so I can't be anyone special and being a SSG in the army shouldn't have any pull with dell/alienware. So what do people think about this?

Sargent major wifey and I have a burned out laptop motherboard we found 2 chips that look just like it and have the 330 on it. Can't tell you more then that but it came off a board inside for sure.

Looks like something from a board came off. Does it have any type of connection leads? Might be broken off and hard to see. Strange that the system is fine without it. Have you tested everything, DVD, wireless etc? Good luck finding where and what it is.

Shipping update: getting the 2 backpacks and call of duty modern warfare 3 will be here Friday the 16th. Kinda messed up get the bags and game and can't use em lol. Also they have been calling me 2 calls so far to keep me updated. The wifes m14x has a date of the 22nd or sooner while mine is still the 28th.

I was getting dvds for the back up to restore to factory for both machines. Was wondering could I put the back ups on flash drives? 2 thumb drives would be faster etc and just easier. Or does alienware give you discs to restore the system?
