  1. Yeah I ended up grabbing both Fallout 3 GOTY, and New Vegas Ultimate. They both look a bit dated, not as bad as I expected to be honest, but I ended up modding the textures on Fallout 3 to be higher-res, an used an ENB mod for the graphics, an I have to say I think the game looks beautiful now, only problem is the high-res textures are only for the main game, the DLC is all the standard textures. You can do similar with F:NV I just haven't gotten round to it yet.
  2. I find Windows 8 acceptable most of the time, it runs really well, performance of apps and game performance is fine. The lack of a start button bugs me, an the UI can be downright horrid, as finding certain settings can take ages, as nothing is as easy as clicking on the Start button any more, but once I'd finished tweaking my settings and getting more used to the UI it's pretty good, if not annoying at times. It is far better than Vista when that first came on my old laptop.
  3. Went into this sale not expecting to spend too much considering I only recently got a decent gaming capable PC, I'm leaving the sale having spent well upwards of £70. My steam library has expanded from a measly 4-7 games, to 59 in the space of the sale. I guess I kinda have a huge backlog of games to play through now. Ahh well, definitely worth it lol
  4. BI is definitely one of the best games I've ever played, completed it on PS3 when it came out, and as soon as I got a decent computer bought it for £12 while on offer. While I'll admit the gameplay is rather linear, I was so enthralled in the story and fascinated by Elizabeth's transformation from a naive young girl, that it being a little too linear didn't end up bothering me in the slightest. Another thing that impressed me was how well optimised it was for PC considering it is a console port, and the issues that were present with Bioshock. The only thing that really bugged me at the start of the game was graphics based, as I think the game looks beautiful and well crafted, but there's the flat 2D textures of the rose bushes and such, which detracted slightly, but is ignorable, especially once the game starts pushing you along with the story.
  5. Just downloaded and started playing this yesterday, it seems pretty fun so far. But have to agree, the performance seems all over the place, usually averaging around 40-50 fps, with huge random dips down to ~20 fps. It's sometimes for virtually no reason at all, when nothing that's being rendered has really changed, it's a little strange. Not sure how much I'll get out of this game, reading a few of the posts here seems like it might be a "pay to win", I'll see how me an my computer get on with it over the next week or so.
