  1. lol @ MW86 off topic- I noticed how you have no desktop icons and have everything on your quick launch. I'm the same way. I think it's and OCD thing I have lol
  2. Speaking of the speakers and their audio... Does anyone here a "pop" noise sometimes from them like when you open a file or do something on the computer? Both of the M14x's do them and it's kind of strange
  3. Link me to the thread and I can post an infinite amounts eye candy for every one here lol I am a huge metroid fanatic, been playing it since the NES version came out. Haven't played "The other M" yet but I haven't much good reviews but I still wanna play it. Thats what I'm thinking. But i'm hoping the downclock isn't as drastic like the M15x I had a little less than a year ago. Even on battery and on "High Performance" I was not able to watch 720P movie without experiencing some stuttering. and I had the i7-720 with the ATI 5850 O/C'ed. Here is my thread about it from NBR back in August. stealth mode even on battery!?!? If you guys here at T|I don't want links to other forums, forgive me and you can remove it. I just ended up selling the M15x cause I did like to watch movies on the go and it wasn't working out
  4. I didn't think of that.. You can do that but I didn't have to. Arklight I have the Processor Overclocked and I Overclocked the Integrated graphics on the system from the Bios. I also have 7.0 because I overclocked the video card to 670/1340 and memory to 925
  5. I know WEI isn't a very good benchmarking tool but i'm just curious to see what other people with the M14x have? I do have my system O'Ced and this is what I got.
  6. I can game a little bit on battery while on "Balanced" just that the clocks of the video card don't go as high. They cap out like at 350 or 400 instead of the stock "590" or whatever setting you have them at.
  7. Thanks for the awesome welcoming As for the laptops.... Yea I had talked to someone from engineering to get them sent in for what they call "Capture" so they can have a system from the public that has the issues. They send me one in it's place so it's not like I was without a laptop. I know some people were told on the other forums (NBR) that they should be seeing a "Fix" for the issue by the 19th of this month. But if they wanted my laptops for "Capture" , how are they gonna have a fix so soon?
  8. So far I have played Crysis 2 (custom config settings) , Dead space 2, MW2, Portal 2 and all these games run amazing on the M14x .
  9. the latest Intel graphics drivers prevent the laptop from switching back to 40Hz once you set it to 60Hz. Here is a link to the drivers I'm using and they are perfect! http://downloadcenter.intel.com/confirm.aspx?httpDown=http://downloadmirror.intel.com/20035/eng/Win7Vista_15221.exe〈=eng&Dwnldid=20035&DownloadType=%0aDrivers%0a
  10. Hello all! My name is Steven and as you can see i'm new here. I have 2 M14x's (one is mine and the other is my g/f's) I've been reading through these forums and I like what I see and am happy to join a good friendly community where I can contribute as much as possible. Both my M14x laptops are in the process of being sent to Alienware's engineering team so they can get a better look at the shutdown issue a lot of people have been having so a solution can come about asap. Once again, i'm happy to be here and will keep everyone updated on the status of these laptops.
