Any luck for anyone else running windows 8.1 on m17x R4? done all the steps including the disabling of those options but still getting that stupid referral crap its starting to drive me crazy

Does anyone know how to set jps pictures (3d pictures) as my desktop wallpaper because i just cant find the option anywhere to do this. Really grateful if anyone could get back to me thanks. I have a 3D screen before anyone asks

Thanks Nofew, yea i realised i needed to flash my actual graphics card to overclock but i wanted to change my fan settings so when i run benchmarks and overclock the temperatures stay lower and generally keep the card in safer limits during heavy load

Im on a respectable 1000core/1200mem with the unlocked vbios. So id say very far indeed considering. plus a good score in 3dmark 11 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3740QM Processor,Alienware M17xR4 score: P8049 3DMarks

Oh and im also getting the vbios to unlock my gtx680m forgot to mention that

Im just hoping the next gen of nvidia mobile cards come with the same form factor as the ones currently available so i can upgrade my graphics card then. Tbh i think a good cooled gaming "laptop" rig can last a good 5 years if you just upgrade the parts if the old ones become really outdated. My philosophy with my r4 was get the most beastly system out there (with easy to replace parts, dont rage at me lol i know it not the most powerful but for what i wanted- 3D screen and easy self upgrades, it was the best choice for me) so in the future it will be able to somewhat keep up with the times. But staying on topic im running 32gb of corsair vengeance ddr3 1600 on my r4 atm with no issues. il test out 1866mhz overclock for you if you want and see if it works and is stable

Was installing the new cpu difficult or did you have to buy any extra parts to help install the new xm version, or did it fit nice and snug?

im looking at this unlock more for overclocking my gpu, so can i not unlock clock settings with this? coz my core clock is locked to +135 max when i try to overclock

Been trying to find an unlocked bios for my m17x r4 for a while now, im really pleased i found this page. Thanks alot svl7 coz your guide seems very informative and helpful. Im on the A11 bios atm but my system is an m17r4 i73740qm with 3D gtx680m and 32gb ddr3 1600 corsair vengeance. I feel it is a waste to not overclock this somewhat beast with the hardware it carries so once my new usb arrives il be trying out this flash. Oh quick question, im fairly new to flashing and this might be obvious to the more "in the know" but things like 3D screen dont affect the process i have to go through right? and any other suggestions anyone has on improving the performance of my system e.g overclocking ram and so on. Thanks in advance
