  2. When I'm posting testing version and you decided to use them, then I also expect something in return... Feedback! Else I can't improve these mods, I don't have an M14x. If I don't get feedback and some data I see no need in posting public testing versions but will rather give them to users of whom I know that they will provide me with the information I need.Thanks. EDIT: New way of flashing for versions labelled with [FPT] - Refer to the "Dos flashing" instructions found in this post for the tools and details. If you're going for the A11 mod then I recommend first flashing A11 stock, and then following the instructions in the link above. ******* Current test versions:M14x R2 - BIOS A10 - unlocked BIOS with 650m @ 950MHz core / 1400MHz memory for 3d clocks. Increased overclocking limits. No boost. M14x R2 - BIOS A11 - unlocked BIOS with 650m @ 950MHz core / 1400MHz memory for 3d clocks. Increased overclocking limits. No boost. [FPT][M14x R2] BIOS A11 'unlocked' - 650m 950-1400 - TEST-V2.zip [M14x R2] BIOS A10 'unlocked' - 650m 950-1400 - TEST.zip

  3. Thank you @mw86, I am looking forward to it! I loathe importing all my files and savegames, but I suppose that's par for the course. If I can fix my m11x, it should be an easy transfer with USB 3.0, esp. for Steam backups.

  4. No official 7900m series support here, but it fixes some issues with desktop card and solves a possible security issue which was discovered a short while ago. Here's the full change log: Mobile download link Desktop download link (direct) If you're a 7900m series user I recommend checking out the latest beta driver, it promises better performance: [URL]http://forum.techinferno.com/amd/1796-%5Bmobile-desktop%5D-amd-catalyst-12-7-beta.html#post22515[/URL]

  6. Well, by far the cheapest option would still be to get a 7970m and keep your system. Else... you can try to sell your system to get some of the money back, but you won't be able to sell it for a high price unless you're very lucky... When properly tweaked and overclocked, the 650m of the M14x R2 thrashes the GTX 660m So, the performance is very good, especially compared to your single 4870m. If you don't need max settings, the M14x is definitely a good option. If you want max settings, get a 7970m and keep your system R4 is cool as well, but not sure if it's really worth all the money when you say you don't really care about max settings.

  9. Deadbydawn the other thing you must do is disable ulps. You know open regedit click on find next option type in ulps and make sure the left column is clicked on the first tier of the different registry sections. Hit f3 each time locating the ulps registry and change it to a 0 from a 1. Keep hitting f3 and changing those to 0 instead of one til find next says it reached end of ducument. Restart and your ddone. If you decide to only overclock via vbios ulps can stay enabled. Programs like afterburner need the card read at full 3d clocks to allow it to adjust the cllocks otherwise you see what you described a slider thats essentially locked at stock clocks or lower but cant raise beyond. If you disabled ulps i apologize. I had same issue as your describing on mine at forst. Also noticed some scenarios the vram limit shows 1500 when done lije this and other times i had it show up to 1700vram. I had a bench or two at 1660vram but now for me afterburner once again shows 1500 as the limit.
