wbabt007
I am the only one to notice that Alienware stop offering the IEEE 1934 Firewire port in all it's new Generation Laptops? I know most people don't have a use for it, but if you in the music Industry the 1394 has many of uses including Specialize Input devices, mixers, Sounds Cards and a multiple array of hard drives. I wonder why the decided to take it off, I feel it is a loss for the overall functionality of the Alienware Laptops line.
Founder StamatisX Posted May 5, 2011 Founder Share Posted May 5, 2011 Interesting observation, I didn't really pay attention to that cause my R2 has it and I have never used it but yeah I see your point, probably the target group is limited and they decided to reduce the cost by removing the controller (considering that they removed the option to change colors to the alienhead, this doesn't surprise me at all). Jimbo
But at a certain point they have to drop connectors that not many people use... I know it's awful if you're one of those that does, but is this not, to a certain extent, just the price of progress?
