sikfamas
This happened to me a while ago where my computer would boot very slowly and sometimes not at all. I believe it was my hardrive which gave me the troubles because after installing an m.2 ssd I stopped having that problem
kalpokas
Was happening to me, really uncomfortable, but again like most problems, it dissapeared when i upgraded to a new version of windows(from 8 to 8.1)
EgT
I used to have the exact same problems, but changing the hhd with a ssd (I just cloned it without a clean windows install) and boom! all problems are plus the OS feels faster especially when lauching apps. ninjo113
Like Egt said I highly recommend getting a ssd. I have a y500 very similar to y510. Boot times were a bit slow, so i installed a ssd into the laptop and now it purrs like a kitten. Keep a eye on newegg and you can find something like the 250gb msata 840 evo on sale for something like 80-100$ if you are willing to wait for a great deal.
