DanXbix
after getting a faulty Vertex 2 i swapped it for a Vertex 3 120gb (ready for m18x upgrade)when i go into bios(A10) Drives show up asSata Operation - AHCISata Hard Drive 1 - OCZ 120gbSata Hard Drive 2 - Momentus XT 500gb (firmware DEM1 ??? dell accidentally gave me this drive with my other Momentus 500gb )When i go to install windows 7 and before install (SHIFT F10 to bring up cmd)i run diskpart - list disks and it always showsDISK 0 - Online - 465GB (HDD)DISK 1 - Online - 111GB (SSD)Shouldn't this be the other way around as it causes problems when mklink /J on "User" dir to HDD.If i take HDD out and run diskpart it show as DISK 0 (make it active and it boots to windows) soon as i put HDD back in it becomes DISK 1 again.OCZ is installed near battery and HDD next to the CPU (so right locations)driving me mad as i just want to move User dir to HDD.any help would be fantastic__________________
Founder Michael Posted May 12, 2011 Founder Share Posted May 12, 2011 why can't you just change the drive letters in the command to match your configuration?
DanXbix
Hey dude not totally sure what you mean as windows not installed yet. Is your SSD showing as DISK 0 in windows manage hdd tool?
Founder Michael Posted May 12, 2011 Founder Share Posted May 12, 2011 yeah, i think it was, but it's not really important. You just gotta figure out how it assigned the drive letters and modify the command accordingly.
