yengalvez
Hi! I need to make a OC to my Aurora R4, but without speedstep, because it make problems with a installation os hackintosh.I see in other posts that people can't make manual overclock in A06 Bios, but Dell support say that in A07 this was unlocked.I try in A07, changing multiplicators (CPU ratio), but don't feel any difference. I see that the speed is the same. I try Gear Ration and then the computer reboot, and I will reset the Bios.I don't know why the multipliers don't work...Thanks for help!!!! svl7
Overclocking and crap os mac os don't mix well...I remember that disabling speed step in my M15x causes it to be locked at the lowest speed, but I don't know if that is normal. If you set the multis per BIOS they should stick, as long as you get the settings right. You won't really feel a difference unless when it comes to CPU intense tasks I'd say, maybe try running a benchmark and compare. There might also be tools for MacOS that tell you the CPU speed, no idea.
jiaming1
Mac OS does not working well with X79 motherboard period, you can try Mavericks, I heard Native PM support it, but I couldn't get it successfully working.
