Use the service manual of Dell, not very difficult but tedious, I have done it before. I don't recommend to do it without very good reason.

Mac OS does not working well with X79 motherboard period, you can try Mavericks, I heard Native PM support it, but I couldn't get it successfully working.

if you have 3D Monitor, watch out, you might be losing 3D feature switching to AMD. have fun.

I have tried 3000M on Alienware R3, system can boot up fine, however, huge problem installing drivers for it, the retail NVidia driver is not recognize the card at all. Good Luck
