jackgarcia7
I opened up my laptop yesterday and tried to find a 12V connections without any success. Anyone know where to get 12V on an M17x R4?
svl7
See if you can find the datasheets of the R4 online, would help. Else, the power source pin of the MXM connector is in the 12V range, but might be a bit higher or lower, you'd need to measure it.Also your battery is most likely at around 12V, grab a multimeter and see whether there's something which fits your needs.

jackgarcia7
I have located a 5v connection that I will use instead. Stay tuned for a water cooling system.
svl7
Nice!Yeah, 5V is easy, e.g. at the harddrive, especially if you use an SSD... then it won't be an issue at all if you have a higher power draw there cause it has headroom for an hdd anyways.
