hello, I'd like to upgrade my WLAN card and I have the whitelist issue, I need an unlocked BIOS.  Can you please do this with the Lenovo ThinkPad E531 ?

Dobrý den, chtěl bych upgradovat svou WLAN kartu a mám problém s whitelistem, potřebuji odemčený BIOS. Můžete to prosím udělat s Lenovo ThinkPad E531?

Hi!

In your Lenovo ThinkPad E531, any modified bios can be flash using hardware SPI programmer only, exactly the same as described in the first post of this thread:

So, for creating backup (dump) of bios you need to use hardware SPI programmer only.

Thank you
Unfortunately I am a layman who does not know foreign languages I translate everything through Google. I thought it would be easy so I tried following the procedure you wrote to make a backup of the bios with the idea of editing and re-uploading the bios back to my laptop.

Hello, today i finally attach SPI programmer and read content of the bios chip.

Hopefully it is dumped the right way.

But according to this forum it is the right chip - Lenovo Edge E531 boot option vanished in bios - Badcaps Forums

Can you please remove whitelist?
Thank you in advance.

Thank you, but I cannot find any 25Q chip on my motherboard.

There are only two chips that should contain bios CFEON EN25QH64, and CFEON EN25QH32.

From which I should read the bios?

Maybe I have bad programmer settings and it didnt read whole bios. Because auto-detect didnt work ,so I have to choose one chip manually, but CFEON not found in menu.

Can you please help me and try to find on internet which chip should I read. And with which programmer settings?

Thank you :)-

If you use programmer CH341A, then try to use software AsProgrammer_1.4.1 :

Choice chip: IC -> SPI -> EON -> EN25QH32

In this thread you can post your requests for Lenovo G580 (20150) and (2189), G480, G780.
If someone wants upgrade Wi-Fi card and remove whitelist, or unlock hidden additional menus and settings in bios setup menu, then you can post your request in this thread.

For prepare unlocked bios you should post your request here and then send me your file backup of bios via PM.  For creating backup of bios use attached program. Extract attached archive directly on the Desktop and run the program as administrator (right click mouse). Program will create archive "results" directly on the Desktop. Send me this archive "results" via PM.
