  1. if the time comes, i will make a tutorial (+video)
  2. ah, what i forgot to say... if you would extract the VBIOS for me, i could try to mod it! if you find time you could repack the VBIOS in the BIOS and i would test it on my laptop!
  3. it is with stock voltage! ny 3dmark 11 score was just a little bit higher then yours.. around 3,47* or something haven't done it.. but i will buy some thermal paste and do it then you have to remove nearly everything, like with the Y500.. take a look in this thread http://forum.techinferno.com/lenovo-ibm/2773-y500-disassembled-pictures.html
  4. 1300 mhz gpu and 3125 mhz mem.. but i'm running gpu at 1250 mhz and mem at 3125 mhz for maximum stability... just want a bit more voltage, so that these clocks are even stable for future it would be nice, if these clocks are set in bios i know that the temps will increase... but I still have the option to re-apply the thermal-paste big thanks for your help!
  5. just a short update from my side :3 wish i could change the clocks in the bios to these ones and a VDDC of max 1,115 V or 1,125 V... crysis 2 runs great, even with Maldo HD-Textures v4.0 Final... never goes under 40 fps... i made the screenshot of gpu-z after two hours playing crysis 2 with this mod
  6. check your temps, that could be an overheating-issue... (do you have overclocked the gtx 660m?) or it's just a driver related problem. update your graphic-drivers if you haven't got the newest.
  7. haha, thats funny, i'm using also the CM u3 works perfectly... one fan placed on ram and hdd, the other 2 fans to the gpu/cpu section... you will get around 3000 points, i think
  8. yeah 1000 mhz is good enough for the first if you want to overclock use a program like msi afterburner.. the core can easily handle 1200mhz without more voltage.. and 1400mhz mem also works with the stock voltage
  9. i had a bit newer version... v2.07 .. but that doesn't matter. yes, i also used the 2.0x one... thats right, you just extract the files and run ''InsydeFlash.exe''... pretty easy.. but close all other programs before starting the flash goes really fast, maximum 1 minute long...
  10. yeah, i flashed in windows.. that was pretty easy.. just follow the one single step of svl7: ''Flash with the included InsydeFlash utility.'' thats it. just close all programs and open ''InsydeFlash.exe''... but you need to have the BIOS-version v2.0x, to flash the unlocked BIOS v2.07 ..
  11. thats just a small bug in gpu-z... the GTX 660m supports OpenCL, CUDA, PhysX and DirectCompute 5.0 .
  12. thank you for clarifying that!
  13. 3600mhz on the memory? is that stable?
  14. i think thats a different decision for everyone.. for example: i choose the Y580, because it supports switchable graphics.. (intel hd4000 + gtx660m) that gives you much more battery-life in office-use... with the Y500 there isn't a way to only use the intel hd4000, because it has an option to add an second gt650m... (silly lenovo ) you have to decide
  15. yes, the 660m is on 1ghz default 3d clock. the only thing you need to do, is to change the ''lenovo energy management'' to ''dynamic graphics''. then the 660m runs at 1ghz.
  16. core clock is at 1250mhz.. i don't know why the benchmark shows a different clock.. no, thats wrong. in 786p you can run every actual game (accept crysis 3) at max settings... crysis 2 runs with min. 40 fps for me. only when you want to play in 1080p the gtx 660m gets a real problem in games like crysis.....
  17. lower the core clock 50 mhz and then u can turn the mem a bit higher.
  18. the system can handle 1ghz easily man... the gtx 660m even runs without overheating or artifacting... the temperatures are the same as without the modded bios, although the gpu clock is higher. thats because the new fan managment with the modded bios seems to work better then before... for example if the gpu reaches 70 degrees, the fan is on 100 %, so it won't overheat. but if u don't like that you can change the fan settings in the modded bios.. really enjoying this
  19. what is your gpu clock? maybe it's too high... i don't got artifacts or any problems with gpu at 1250mhz. and mem at 3125mhz but max temperatures of 85°C are a little bit high, i think.. so i will buy a cooling pad.. btw, every graphicscard is a little little little bit different... so it could be that one can handle a bit higher clocks and another only a bit lower... i think thats normal
  20. first of all, your driver version is ''9.17.10.2932'' mine is ''9.18.13.1407''... so update your driver to the newest one, that will bring you a bit performance-increase. what are your clocks? gpu? i saw that your memory is at 2950mhz... mine is at 3125mhz.. and my gpu is at 1250mhz. i also got 16gb ram and the 3630qm.. my windows 7 experience index: i hope that helped you
  21. ...some people can deal more with the windows 7 experience index.. so here it is, of my Y580, tuned (probably) to maximum. nice machine
  22. if someone is interested in a benchmark of my Y580 with a modified bios from svl7 and OC... NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3630QM Processor,LENOVO Product Name score: P3344 3DMarks also got 16gb of ram installed... works pretty fine
  23. if someone is interested in a benchmark of my Y580 with the modified bios and OC... NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3630QM Processor,LENOVO Product Name score: P3344 3DMarks
  24. ok, i tried it! i chose a higher clock, but it didn't changed anything.. nevertheless it's a great bios. the gtx 660m runs now with 1250mhz gpu and 3125/~1563mhz mem... a bandwidth of 100 gb/s runs great.. max temperatures are 85°C after 3 hours battlefield 3 it seems like my Y580 have some great thermal paste.. because i didn't change anything on the laptop.. this result is even without a coolingpad under the laptop.. but i will buy one soon. 1250mhz gpu and 3125mhz mem are really recommendable settings for the gtx 660m!
