  1. hey Guys, since i just got my m17x r5 and i keep looking more and more into the aw 17 forum, besides the aw 15 one, i sort of miss the r5 official owners thread! can i has?
  2. i have that as well.. rocks. my disc drive died anyway!
  3. used to have a undervolted vbios with 0.975v. right now i'm using a vbios @ 1.000v without any problems with a 840qm.
  4. from what i found on the net, it seems to be normal to have high mem clocks, when having a monitor connected to the DP.
  5. guys, i did a repaste yesterday, since i had high temps when playing games (once 88°C). got better now but still have kinda high idle temps on my gpu. (like around 58°C). and i'm pretty sure repasting was done good, since i never had problem with that. it seem like this high temps came when i peplaced my vbios chip. could this have to do with being on 1.000v not undervolted? (have been on 0.975v before, because of throttling, but with this vbios 1.000v works fine) when checking sensors with hwinfo i saw mem clock being at 1199mhz when idling.. i think i remember it clocking down when not in 3D state etc.. isn't it like that? i have a 015.019 clevo vbios. no issue when playing etc except temps. here is a screen of the gpu part in hwinfo: ================================================================================ EDIT: i did some tests. i now saw, that when using a monitor with my display port, mem clock stays high at 1199mhz. when i disconnect the monitor, it goes back to 149mhz. is this normal? this is the reason for my idle temp to go up. without connected monitor thru DP, my idel temps are around 39°C.. ================================================================================
  6. probably he is busy. just give it some patience. i had him saving my 7970m by sending me a new chip as well!
  7. that should work with no issues. i have a i7 Q840 @ 1,86 Ghz here together with the 7970m. RAM is no problem as well.
  8. yes svl7, you did mention it a lot of times and since your techwords are techlaws i was so afraid i just had a m15x with some mobo that couldn't handle DP with the clevo. but i have to say, i'm glad that, there is a little exception now actually i have no idea, but i really think other should be fine as well. i have got the aw/dell one myself, so i can't tell..
  9. i finally have a working display port with my clevo 7970m. i never got it working with all dell vbios (mainly 015.017). after having my 7970m bricked, i got a vbios chip from svl7 with the 015.019 clevo vbios. et voila, DP works!! since most of the clevo 7970m card owners have that problem, they may give it a shot/flash and try! clevo7970m_015019.zip at this point once again: thanks svl7!
  10. i had my 7970m bricked with a bad vbios flash.. thanks to @svl7 i was able to save it. now having the vbios 015.019 on the chip he sent me, i have my display port working with the clevo card!!
  11. no problem! do you think, it would make any sense, if i test the clevo 015.019 vbios?
