I was messing around with the memory trying to get these stick tightened up but they are not having it... This laptop stays home most of the time unless I need to go to library and download a bunch of stuff updates games movies blah blah. But its going to soon become my desktop pc (eGPU setup The y580 that is in my sig, now belongs to my mother. She needed A computer and that was just sitting around collecting dust...Happy xmas for her early lol she is not a gamer, its for office work and what not ahha....plus GOG for myst and some some other games that she does like (she does not play rpg fps blah blah)

Standards All USB hdmi and other ports to the rear. Remove VGA completely. Mxm support even on the 13 & 14". Thunderbolt 2 or 3 Everybody else's thoughts and wishes. Especially the cooling. I don't mind sanding down to a nice polished finish that is flat and sits very well, but not everybody as khenglish pointed out ,knows how to. Oh and EXTENDED BATTERIES for those below 15.3" models. W230sd might not incorporate the m2 but it might who knows. I'm happy with My st, it's nice suits what I need and I can start up my egpu benching in the coming month. And that's why I came on , do your mod support the ability to egpu? If you don't know ha, that is fine by me I'm still going to get the hardware and start going crazy with numbers and testing for others out there. Question, Have w230st. I am currently using your v2 mod for the computer and its awesome BUT Should i update first to latest stock bios version that is on the first page THEN update to Version 2? Im not to worried about flashing i think i have a pretty good handle on it, just curious if i would notice anything ON HWinfo- My system BIOS Version is 4.6 Bios Vendor-Prema Bios Version-1.03.03PM V2 Just curious is all Im pretty happy so many new features and so easy to look through

Negative, The bios updates both modified and OE do not have options to change fan profiles.

Hello So I have a Np6110 from sager (bought through xoticpc) Currently I have Bios: 1.02 EC: 1.02 I have looked on your latest stock clevo sager bios files and it is updated to BIOS:11 EC:09 Now the Overclock update file is BIOS:04 EC: 03 curious how I could update the bios to the OC version do you have to do anything special or can I update to the latest you have posted or do I have to wait for you to mod all the way up to the latest files to do so

Did you back up the original bios ?

I am typing before i start to work on this right now, I will check to make sure nothing has gone in wrong also have to fix the ribbon that is used for the power and speaker buttons on top (speaker button is lit dont want it to be (my fault rushed before) So i will check to make sure nothing is stuck in there and make sure everything how i want it also have to check the trackpad...(costs alot for such a thing really i dont need the whole palm rest just the trackpad) Also im looking at a 3840qm to throw in here to replace the 3630qm and throttlestop it (worth it ehhh) i dont know if it will be worth the change but it uses the same wattage and i can handle the heat it throws out (my camper has ac constantly running in summer time and winter time its so cold that no need to even have fans (north dakota usa) I am trying to maximize this little thing to the best that i can possibly do and then sell it off to a lucky buyer who is willing to utilize this little beast I like getting the most i can from something that can handle it So expect an edit when im done

This is something that my brother will deffinitly need to do..The Msata is amazing idea...clears up alot of space in order to do this... Have you pushed the limits on that vengeance memory?

Alright so the keyboard arrived... I currently have the new one installed but no keys work at all... (driver?) Kinda annoying i just got off work and the laptop was dismantled before i went into work and got back put it all together and yes i made sure all ribbons fit properly and what not... started up and nothing.... Currently though im just going to keep the new one in place and wait till im not really busy doing anything at all to get down and dirty with this little beast As for the LED thing...pain in the neck it would seem... (you should just change out the led from red to white..it would be simpler..though i would be willing to sell the old one to ya for cheap with shipping..just have to get settled down first kinda hectic world right now(swimming in oil sucks to fix one minimal thing ya )

Ordered one from ebay, It is only the keyboard part I will be calling lenovo once the part arrives from china (two more weeks its floating on a ship somewhere) Then hope they can just send me the palmrest and trackpad combo for self repair they were pretty cool when i first talked to them about the computer they actually wanted me to just read parts numbers and they would find it and ship it off to me but i would be paying wayyyyyy to much for it so went the china man route instead

Hello all SO i have a bit of a dilemma.. My keyboard and trackpad on the y580 (english) is dead.. The ribbon for the keyboard has fraid... Story time I took apart the y580 for new thermal paste on the gpu and cpu Go to oput it bak together and the ribbons were frayed and did not go in easily So now my keyboard does not work nor does my trackpad... although the backlight on the keyboard works which is weird.. Wondering where i can get a keyboard (ebay first choice) or if there is a work around for getting it to work again

Ok Well nevermind really had to turn off antivirus and such like that..how weird that would cause a problem.. Well going to see what i can do After figuring it out...it is really easy The AV is a problem but going to prob just go with a comodo set up anyways.. Alright so i have the USB now formated with DOS and win98 files.. I am now trying to get my current back up I have the Fptw64 folder with the backup.bat file and yes the Fptw64.exe NOW how do i go about backing everything up im lost You have stated to run the tool with cmd so i go to cmd and get to the folder where Fptw64 is located and type start this is with admin privaleges...it does not do anything.. I have no errors other than error 200 invalid perameter ...

It should not affect windows 8 at all the license key is in the bios yes but was not changed whatsoever on my side...will have to test again... I can say this though i have finallly updated the 8.01 with whitelist and wow thank you gaming experience is so much better (dualband at local game shop where three of us have the same computer lol ) we are in love with this ... just have to really sniff through to see if i can get more from the memory and get better clocks with it for a snapier feel Again i thank you for all the work you guys have put into this and the help you have provided... Way to cool (lenovo why you hate people who want more from the machine-cant be warranty)

Well i dont know how to do that .. Along with when i try to do a backup for my current bios of 8.01 it does not show up in the folder nor anywhere on my computer.... with the windows one at least.. unable to do the dos one because well i dont have a blank usb nor cd with dos bootable where i can put my own programs on it not that of stuff i dont know what it is.... Im not great at this just would like to use a 50 dollar peice of sillicon to get dual band that is all and clock memory...thats all icare for...not any software stuff pretty annoying that its a pain with everything i try to do

well dangit i dont even have a usb to use..my phone iphone wont let me use it as a usb drive at all....i just want to do this so i can use the dang card time now to hunt for a usb stik just to do use the card and maybe clock my memory to proper specs

Anybody else make a video for this so i can update the bios and see about getting my 6300N to work on this card...
