  1. Jesus F**** Christ man! And here I was thinking of a bunch of cheap cable Frankenstein!
  2. Just illustrating, something like this, with the internal adapter and the external eGPU being interconected by a single plug-in cable. But maybe a D-SUB wont be able to handle the 8x PCIe... Displayport maybe?
  3. Nice, a internal SATA/Ultrabay combo adapter, and a external eGPU. _ Or, another solution would be cut the adapter cable halfway and put 2x connectors (D-SUB?) would also work to achieve mobility.
  4. So that how its gonna be! Thank you!
  5. I got bad luck, my y510p model 20217 does not have a NGFF/mSata, I just got 1 single SATA port. =/ Just to make sure you understand what I said, I was thinking if it was possible to have the 2nd drive inside the ultrabay slot, and your eGPU Ultrabay adaptor to be connected on the outside, Like this example (just to illustrate), where the mPCI is outside: Off course, this way it would be required to have a internal PCB with both SATA ODD and PCI-E Ultrabay adapters, and a external cable connector, which I don't know if is possible with your current design. This way I would kill 3 rabbits with just one shot (2nd internal SSD, eGPU support and a Plug-in adapter) Thank you mister!
  6. Awesome! I use the laptop both at Work and Home, it would be way better to have the 2nd SSD inside the laptop (instead of carrying a external USB case like I do right now). Since I'm gonna need both a internal SATA to ODD conversor and your eGPU adapter, there may be a few issues. =/ In the end, What Im gonna need is a SATA+eGPU Combo, and I'm still figuring out how I goona do it without being too complicated. Maybe something just like @David 'SOAP' Washington did, I don't know. But @Swung Huang I appreciate your willing to make it and sell it. Thank you!
  7. Looking at this image, I just noted that there is a strange connector between the Standard SATA connector and the Ultra Bay connector. What is the purpose of this connector? It is used to house another Drive instead of the eGPU? So, I can use the eGPU and this adapter at the same time?
  8. If you ever decide to make and sell one of these, I'm here.
  9. Is someone able to build and sell the @Swung Huang version of the adapter, the one with the cable? Thank you.
  10. @Swung Huang could make me and sell you version of the adapter? There is some tests I would like to do. Thank you
  11. AMD cards do not support Optimus, is a NV proprietary technology, just like PhysX, 3D Vision, SLI and GSYNC.
  12. @Swung Huang I can't believe you really did it! What is the purpose of the Arduino Mod?
  13. THIS is the only thing preventing me to buy the adapter right now, since I have money to buy a good GPU, but dont have enough to buy a nice Display. I need at least one person to state they successfully achieve to send the eGPU video signal back to the laptop display without having an external monitor.
  14. @David 'SOAP' Washington do you have any more pictures/information on this mod? What is this? A Ultrabay adaptar that have both PCI Express and SATA connectors?
  15. Did someone managed to send the eGPU signal back to the laptop screen without needing a external display connected to the eGPU?
  16. One of the main problems I have with this GPU is that I can't use optimus. The Intel GPU doesn't even appear on the hardware list and I cannot install the driver. The 2 GPUs are always on (even on Idle) and the Battery Life is about 55 minutes. Iread somewhere that I need to remove the extra card, disable it on BIOS (which I can't do) or maybe uninstall the Nvidia Driver and use only the Intel driver, and since I game everyday, none of this is an Option. Also, by enabling Intel iGPU I could use Quicksync and off CPU/GPU resources on encoding/decoding. If taking one GPU away and using the adapter with another will make Optimum possible, allowing me to use the iGPU and increase my battery life, I would kill 3 duck with a single shot.
  17. Anyone tried a 1080/Ti? I'm thinking of getting one, but the current prices is holding me.
  18. It's something simple, you can do by yourself, unless you are insecure about it, then you can ask someone with my experience on electronics to do it for you. Thank you all so much!
  19. This is a nice solution, but I would rather use the adapter inside a ATX/ITX case and just a "Extension" Cable connecting to the Notebook, but this would demand a new adapter.
  20. I think the best way is to have both the GPU and the PSU inside a regular case, and just a cable connecting the GPU to the Notebook, but I think the notebook will also need the 24 pin ATX connector.
  21. I think if you boot the laptop without any display connected on the eGPU, the multiple display options will not even be available on Windows. At least this is how thing worked on Windows 7.
  22. What If you change the Vendor in the GPU Bios?
  23. @High_Voltage Damn. NVIDIA support, plus video signal back to the display? You guys are the real MVP.
