  1. Aorus gpu's(SLI) are embedded on the board while Asus have their own world of MXM boards which is not compatible with the famous nb's like AW,Clevo/Sager, and MSI.
  2. is this throttling issue related as with the T16/T17 fix with 16f3/1762 nb's? You did flash to T18 also right ya?
  3. Can you lend me that 780m? I'll check if it works with my GT60 with 51x bios update
  4. U need to update your bios. or look for an unlock bios for your gt70.. look in msi thread (thread here) there's a solution for gt70 with 770m that works with 780m cards
  5. I want to have a future proof Upgradable parts including the GPU with PNP capabilites (unlock bios as well), have a unique style for clevo that can rival AW, MSI, Gigabyte etc, and the price should be competitive.
  6. Another question... If I upgrade to 120Hz monitor, 9xxm cards are compatible? 120hz monitor=3d right? Or it's only a fast refresh rate?
  7. GT and GX series of MSI have upgreadable parts including the GPU. if you have other models other than this one then your conclusion is right
  8. But why only in 9XXm GPU's are affected with muxed nb's? vbios mod is the answer? If there's no revision of vbios, then AW18's only hope are AMD GPU's
  9. Noob question. Don't laugh at me but what's the difference between optimus and non-optimus in a notebook? Is there a huge impact even if you got discreet gpu? Still the stronger GPU will play in 3d games right?
  10. Is iGFX and iGPU the same? anyways Primary display i saw in bios for MSI GT60-16F3 (one of my nb) have the following: Primary Display -Auto -iGFX -PEG -PCI -SG I saw iGPU settings also in the bios... Do you think that 980/970m will work? i'll post pic later if its ok here to post.. thanks
  11. First look for @iTzZent. He's got the latest bios for GT60 (16F3)/70(1762). The 51x bios with T18 firmware. He said that bios can read from 6xx,7xx,8xx, up to 9xxm nvidia cards.. Or you can browse here his many posts... I've successfully updated my GT60 (16F3) with the 51x bios... I'm just waiting for some people to try out the new 980/970m gpu's with this NB.. Still saving to get me one until This December.
  12. It seems that MSI GT60/70 series is the same with AW M17 When it comes to Switchable Graphics... SG = Muxless
  13. but with the 16f3 and 1762 gt models have a great chance upgrading with this gpu's right? just update to 51x bios?
  14. I know this is a little off topic (but same gpu)... But What about other brand NB's like MS GT 60 (16f3)/ GT 70 (1762)? does the updated 51x bios reads these new gpus (980/970m)?
  15. It's sooo difficult to find a motherboard, plus the chassis of the board as well (if its not compatible with the old one)
  16. Only GT and GX msi models are cpu,gpu upgradeable. GS/GE series GPUs are embedded on the motherboard, that's why research first before you buy a gaming laptop, That is if you want all upgradeable parts on your notebook.
  17. Does this mean that only M17 works with 980/970m gpu's for the moment?
  18. @godfafa Would you mind asking your friend what's the vbios compatible for MSI? would help me very much thanks.
  19. @iTzZent Have you seen owners of GT 60(16F3)/70(1762) with udpated 51x that upgraded their nb's with 980/970m ? I'm hoping to hear some good news though.. Thanks

  21. @admins/Moderators I put my original thread here under MSI category http://http://forum.techinferno.com/msi/8000-oem-8gb-nvidia-gtx-880m-question.html And this is the first time I've encountered this website while searching on google OEM 8GB NVIDIA GTX 880M question http://www.techonce.net/threads/459105-OEM-8GB-NVIDIA-GTX-880M-question They've just changed my name there several times.. Same topic, same conversation, different aliases. W-t-f!

    970M pic for MSI

@Khenglish Does it mean that even the old heatsink for GT60 (780/880m) could actually fit on with 980/970m? Thermal pads is the answer to fill those gaps? its the same layout design with the 8GB variant that Khenglish posted.... Btw clevo/sager mxm gpu's are MSI compatible too :-)
