  1. Bloetschkopf, sorry if i didn't get it right. I'm still wrapping my ahead around your bios update suggestion. How will i switch the IGFX off with the new bios?. I'm confused. My previous question was: Can PEG mode work maybe with another vbios? Or maybe another card? -
  2. On the right notes next to the "primary display option" they should have written instead of "please select Auto,IGFX,PEG,PCI" #WE are glad you got this far. Please disable your internal graphics to activate the hidden animated gif of the chewbacca laughing mom). -
  3. Could this be accomplished with another GTX model+custom vbios combination? my bios is as older as it can get (for gt70) my revision is .50T/2012. Older than this?... wow Sometimes i get the impression that Nvidia came up with Optimus just to piss everybody off. The other thing i don't get is, why do they bother hard coding the chipset tab in Bios, if the options are useless? It wasn't difficult to unlock. But it took a lot of reading an research to get to that supposed "magic place" Chipset tab. And now PEG mode is useless?. What a crack of s#it is this Bios. Total waste of my time. - -
  4. keep it up. great info. There are many laptops that do respond to dGPU by disabling internal graphics. I've seen this in MSI laptops with amd cards here: I do not have the GFX options like the msi GX70. But this video here got my attention even thou the menu options are way different. Absolutely not inviting anyone to get into differences between radeon and geforce cards. Optimus is a different ball game. But this dude is not using legal ways to get the radeon to work by any means. Is a workaround that seems to have that effect in the gx70. Is not switching igpu off. interesting workaround. - -
  5. Has anyone succesfully set dGPU as a primary display? I've tried the Primary Display in PEG mode but i get blank screen. I've tried several combinations and end up with cmos reset everytime because of a blank screen. Can't get the LCD screen to listen directly to the geforce. - Laptop: GT70 0NE-452US - GTX680M
  6. Can anyone confirm the Bios for 0NE-452US?. Is MS-1762 or GT70? I already bricked the bios once, using an unlocked version based on .10M a long ago. That bios was 8MB. My bios Backups are 3MB in size, so i suspect maybe i flashed the wrong one in the past. AMIBDP reports MS-1762 on bios information on both Bios versions. Thr barebone and the stock. That's why i'm confused. I want to try the one in this website but don't want to hurt my chances. Maybe i have the barebone? I bought mine in 2014 fully customized. CPU, ram, optical drive, screen. Definitively not stock. Stock comes with i7-3630 i think. I Have a 3920XM installed. Thank you so much. -
  7. Still can't download the unlocked bios.
  8. the unlocked Bios for GT70 didn't work. SOS: STATUS=BRICKED I'm having trouble with the bios filename in the root of the flashdrive. The blind flash key combination works fine and i get several blinks on the flashdrive and then goes off. my guess is that is looking for the file but is not getting any name at all. I've tried AMIBOOT.ROM E1762IMS.ROM E1762AMS.ROM M1762IMS.ROM MS1762.ROM still nothing. I'm using the 10U version from the website. 8MB took a screenshot from the bios before flash and the Bios version reported E1762IMS.50T. But the name E1762IMS.ROM is not working at all. Any ideas? -
  9. Until proof is presented, it will remain as an invalid statement. Maybe is you who does, and you think everybody else does the same things you do. On top of that, you have an opinion in 9billion people. Make sure you come back with at least 8billion opinions and see if that helps making your ego feels a lot bigger. - More Punks than actual adults in this forum. -
  10. I have an Asus X202E that is giving me performance issues with HT. Video editing is part of my business. So i do a lot of render. One day i notice a dramatic change with render times by deactivating Cores 1/2 (HT), and i have been obsessed ever since to deactivate Hyper-Threading and leave just the physical cores enabled. As a result of digging into this i ended up learning some fundamental of Amibcp and afudos. I must say i have quite a few BAD FLASH experiences from my past days as a technician, and certainly don't want to revisit that agony. Only one time in my entire career i was able to recover an EX600 from MSI using the popular blind flash key combination. But other than that. Nothing. I doubt there's a blind flash for this baby i have. Anyway... I found this command for afudos: "/CAF", that apparently is supposed to test the BIOS before flash. i get no errors with my Original dump. But i get error 43 after saving the rom with AMIBCP. error 43 " Problem Erasing Flash" I also made a dump from my wife's netbook which is the same as mine and it passed the /CAF test. Even saving the ROM with no mods in AMIBCP leads to this error. Does this error mean that the flashing will fail if i attempt to go with it? Thank you so much. -
  11. I have a GTX750ti. Is a great card. I don't do modern games in particular but i use this card to make sure that my old games relate properly with new drivers from nvidia, directx, opengl, d3d. The only thing i don't like about your combo is the PSU. This card does not requirw external power. Just the wattage from the PCI. It should not need more than 85/90watts. Which means you can actually use something a little more portable. Like a laptop kind of style PSU to feed the slot. 120watts or 180watts if you are concerned about power. You can also find the EXP with an aluminum chassis on ebay. this card is short and you won't have messy cables coming from outside. Making it ideal por a portable gaming rig if you want to have a LAN party with your buddies anytime. But hey, that's just me. -
  12. With the constant Violation of Privacy Rights, what other people are doing is nothing more than protecting their private information from beign stolen and sold to institutions that serve the selfish interests of the organized societies. The very same institutions that later come to use your private information against you when their positions of power are threatened. Is a legitimate question. And your reply falls in the classic attitude of a citizen that tolerates what is incorrect by celebrating apathy towards this matter. No wonder why we lost our privacy rights. No one cares to protect it anymore. But until someone's life become threatened, the apathy of the latter will prevail. -
  13. I don't think the MSI staff gets that deep when it comes to solve these matters. These companies are known to have very efficient procedures to solve this problems. The blind flash procedure was developed precisely to reduce costs in training the employees to solve BIOS related issues among a thousand other things that cost money to the company. We may never know in this lifetime the "Blind Flash" key combination or whatever secret procedure is. With every support member beign recorded over the phone they would not even dare to send an anonymous e-mail to you with that info. But you can bet, a simple solution is available. If we ever find out that's another story. - -
  14. Optimus can be a PITA sometimes. Have you tried the most common workaround like starting the Application Shortcut w/ Discrete Graphics, aswell as changing main graphic card to discrete in the Nvidia Panel? I also have a GT70 with 680m stock. and i'm feeling tempted to your 980 upgrade. Interesting to see a 9xx series working on a HM77 chipset.
