Yup I've had it for almost a week now. Just getting used to the system and preparing it for benchmarks. I didn't write a review right away because I want a chance to use the system and give it a fair evaluation rather than first impressions. Starting today, I will be running a bunch of game benchmarks on the R3 and R2. You should call Dell about your order.

I wear an alienware shirt that the Alienware guys in Miami gave me when I visited their headquarters. I also have a Alienware pens and other goodies but it's in my other Alienware backpack (which they gave me) sitting at my cousins house in NJ.

I use a light weight Targus Chill Mat. It's light plastic and the bottom has padding so I can put a notebook on top of it and use it on my lap. I never turn it's fans on because these notebooks don't really need that and frankly don't benefit much from positive air pressure.

Both notebooks have their pros and cons - I have both in my possession and am in the process of writing a review. In the past I felt the same as you but after owning a 6970M equipped R3, my thoughts on the subject have changed to say the least. Stay tuned for our review Welcome to Tech|Inferno.

This thread isn't for solicitations to purchase a notebook. I noticed you're from Kyrgyzstan so if you are interested in purchasing an Alienware notebook, I would suggest looking into hidevolution.com or eBay.

Yup Avenger is coming alright. BTW before Eric ever brought up M18x, I was the first to announce it's coming after I received confirmation of it last year. Haha I have two R2's and an R3 (i'm not even close to rich) but so far I'm liking the R3 as much as the R2's despite being single GPU and WLED.

You can't lose either way with regards to r2 vs r3. You're going to love the R2 vs the old m1710 (I used to own the same notebook).

$1500 is a sweet deal as long as it's got rgb led + wifi 6300.

What do you have in mind? Because I have two M17x-R2's up for sale and both are in mint condition. Both have identical configs except one has a 920xm + 5870m xfire while the other has 720qm + 5870m xfire.

Since you're the only guy I know who has one, we can just call it a 6970M Ichime Edition.

So here's an update I received: The M14x was supposed to be shown off at the CES this past January but was not because of unforeseen problems and was pushed back. It should be released in the near future along with it's bigger brother M18x. Time frame for release wasn't given but soon must mean within the next few months.

Yeah ichime's monster 6970M is faster than a 485M. Lucky bastard.

Since me and a couple guys own this domain, I can guarantee things like that won't happen here.
