  1. Yes, but with a sidenote. HP 2570P has an intel HD4000 GPU. Thus the maximum resolution is 2560x1440 pixels @ 60Hz. The only way to get 4K / 2160p is to set the refresh rate to 24-30Hz; not a very pleasurable experience to the eyes. Or -- to get those proper high resolutions -- by using a eGPU solution connected through the express card slot. Very neat to have, but its cheaper (and easier) to get an Android / Kodi media center for 4K movie playback. Hmm ... just got an idea. It might actually work using a Google Chromecast Ultra, but not cheap either. Will try one before Xmas. Seems to work: https://www.techjunkie.com/extend-desktop-chromecast/
  2. depends on the interface you like to attach it to. If you are referring to EXP GDC? https://www.banggood.com/Wholesale-PCI-Cards-c-483.html
  3. LOL! No such thing as hackintosh being legal (not in any country). And if I'm not mistaken it's 1 OSX 'license' per machine. To make it more legal? You can purchase another https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard ... still makes its greyzone. But at least we would be supporting Apple just a little bit more. ;-) Pertaining your Hackintosh problems. For support on separate kexts -- if you build it from scratch yourself -- I've had the best support at https://osxlatitude.com/forums/ or just use the kexts of Rehabman's repo's. You can find all the links or entire bootback script at https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-hp-probook-elitebook-zbook-using-clover-uefi-hotpatch.232948/ which works for 10.14 Mojave too btw without using the beta repo; although that could be an avenue you like to explore. Note: and while on the matter of kexts. For a fully working SD(HC) card slot in 10.13.x ? Checkout this kext: https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/321080-sineteks-driver-for-realtek-rtsx-sdhc-card-readers/
  4. An EC eGPU is the final thing on my wishlist when it comes to my 2570P. Do you have suggestions on how to set it up / step-by-step walkthrough? Or can I use the same instructions as for Windows ?
  5. stubborn as I am .. tried anyway, as my BCM94360CD (aka Apple Airport) worked great before in an Dell E6430, and ... indeed doesn't work with BIOS v67 on HP 2570P. Really? Okay, giving it a spin! Updates: Updated BIOS to F.71 Rev A (BIOS details / download link @ HP) no longer still getting the WWAN slot disabled error on POST (as the BCM94360CD is a full-size card) BT4 works in Win10v1803 with this driver https://markwithtech.com/d/54-bcm94360cd-drivers-for-windows No 802.11ac WiFi being recognized in Windows nor MacOS High Sierra 10.13.6 even though I followed this Hackintosh guide: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/broadcom-wifi-bluetooth-guide.242423/ Conclusion (after quick reading through the whole thread again); sticking to a half-size 802.11n for now + HSDPA in the WWAN slot.
  6. Yap: http://forum.osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/7478-dell-latitude-e6xxxe7xxx-yosemite-install-guide/ ... and not just that version; all of them. For example: http://forum.osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/9717-how-to-install-sierra-to-latitude-e6430/ No. The chipset has support for it, but the laptop only has 2 banks instead of 4 you will find on HP EliteBook 8xxx workstation series for example. BTW what does the 'paperclip OC' refer to? *edit* oh nevermind! found it in 1st post.
  7. Indeed. And for present owners? We got the HDMI and VGA port working too at: http://forum.osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/8926-hp-elitebook-2560p-10114-with-clover-odd-hdmi-not-working/page-3 ... infact this just has motivated to write a detailed installation tutorial and release my bootpack for 'vanilla' OSX. ETA? Oh I dunno ready when it's ready
  8. Neither do I (have an eGPU ... yet). And yet wondering why it could be bad to upgrade the BIOS Only see improvements (and running F6x on my HP 2560P too).
  9. In which scenario could that be bad? Not sarcastically meant, but a genuine question. eGPU usage? Or doesn't it matter for that either?
  10. Ha! Figured out the answer to my challenge. I'm just going to purchase a 8570P, and swap out the CPU I seek for the i5-33x0m of the 2570p. And sell it (probably with profit). Otherwise I will be stuck with a CPU I'm not going to use, and this is way easier. LOL
  11. define "won't boot" ? Does it power-on with it? Can you run memtest? Cause it sounds like faulty RAM to me.
  12. Been making a shortlist of the 2570p CPUs and their passmark scores (although I read the multipliers are different). i7-3540QM: 4608 i7-3632QM: 6930 i7-3620QM: 7615 i7-3720QM: 8161 i7-3740QM: 8391 i7-3820QM: 8495 However none of these can be held at great prices here in The Netherlands. And I've bought all kinds of things on eBay the past decade. Never bought a CPU though. Is that something that you folks have experience with / recommend? Kinda n00by question. And if I would make such a purchase, I suppose it's safer to order from USA than China, or doesn't that matter?
  13. F.63 bios update is only minor fixes (if anything). Won't solve your driver issue. What might though is https://drp.su -- DriverPack Solution ... been using this for the past decade with every Windows version -- if you use the online version vs. offline? Be sure to use "expert mode" (gear icon at the bottom) to deselect some bloatware ;-) @xs850sg ... hmm didn't know that was even possible (replacing 2560p mobo and that way turn it into a 2570p). Will dig into it; thanks!
  14. Proud owner of -- currently still 2560p hackintosh (with everything working) -- but this topic made me decide to get a 2570p due extra oomph for CPU, eGPU, whitelisted WiFi and lots of exciting hardware mods. Thanks a million for putting this thread together and such a blessing to see such an active community. Looking forward to contribute after learning from you folks. *manhug*
