I wanted to ask if anyone had any experience with external gpu? Because I want to pick one up for Lenovo Y500 as the performance couldnt keep up with some latest titles like Fallout 4. I had a GTX 980 lying around as I sold my dekstop so I thought it would be a waste to sell it. It looks like the picture below. I am worried about the speed as it connect through mPCIe which if I remember correctly had much lower speed compared to normal PCIe. I found on hwtools . net which came with power brick supplied.

Have you tried stock driver provided from lenovo? sometimes that fix the problem. Mine got a lot of micro stuttering with newest driver on Windows 10, I guess it didnt play well with older hardware.
