I flashed without problems in Windows 8.1. I enabled legacy boot and everything ok.

That is correct. Only is possible flahs bios 05 stock or unlock > 08 or 09. From bios 09 stock not is possible nothing..............not downgrade or upgrade to bios unlock

Only is posible of A05 > A08 or A09 but not unlocked BIOS -A08 > A08 stock. Enviado desde mi GT-I9000 usando Tapatalk 2

I have my R4 with mod bios A05. I think it will be long before the firmware update again. Also, for now I have no plans to upgrade to Windows 8

Maybe it's a minor upgrade to the next Windows8. License validation system, etc ... -
If you disable hypertheading. Flashing is simple .... first you put the battery in your computer. after, close all programs you have in the background (disable antivirus, etc). Then run the exe file of the bios and wait for it to finish. If all goes well smoothly restarts.

Hi guys! The last monday arrived my replacement [R3 to R4]. The configuration of my R4 proposal included the Intel 2230 but this is not a problem. Six months ago buy on-line (in store DELL) the Intel 6300 for my R3 and worked fine. Yesterday update my R4 (SSD, HDD, RAM and Intel 6300) but now I have no Bluetooth. The problem is that the Intel 2230 include the BT 4.0. Well, now I have to choose Intel 6300 or 2230 + Bt; normally I do not use Bluetooth (I do not need) but I would like to have. Any advice.

Thanks for the clarification. In my country, Spain, the technician usually comes home. In the second year standard of the warranty, send the deposit. If you buy the advanced warranty (NBD) usually comes home the technician.

A question? You warranty is "Next business day"? A technician can go to your house to make the repair, do not understand why sending the deposit.

I thought that updating the BIOS is under warranty but DELL support does not think the same. A user of NotebookReview, Long2905 has problems (updating bios A05 = R4 brick). He called the support and said " According to them, updating BIOS without a tech's guidance is considered user's neglect therefore isn't covered by warranty". Finally fixed the problem calling repeatedly to support ......but at the beginning they did not want to support.

Hello, I read in the NotebookReview forum that two computers were brick when upgrading the bios a05. Is safe or not to upgrade?
