  1. Hi Nando, Just want to thank you for your software!!!! At the moment I´m runing Windows 8.1 with my eGPU with no problems. I´m using your DIY eGPU 1.20 version with my MBPr 2012 and Zotac 970, the performance is great, and the best part for me is how the internal MBPr temperature is reduced drastically. What is really funny is I spended last weekend testing the eGPU with a coupple of friends and one of them have one huge PC, watercooling, 32 ram, Geforce 970, etc... when we test both with Heaven Benchmark I allways got high scores!! xD I feld so proud... Another courious thing is before i bougth the 970 I was trying de eGPU with a GTX 660 Ti and it work without your soft doing nothing special, just install the drivers, Thank you so much again!!
  2. Really interesting!! If you have any success, tell us please It will be great to use the egpu with the internal LCD with our 2012 MBPR!!
  3. JUAJSUAJSUAJSU XD So funny, never heard it before Is the same with me, but now with the eGPU I want to try some games and most of them are in Win
  4. Hi, it looks like is a driver problem with our MBPR, at the moment is not stable in our system, I have random kernel panics with 10.11.1 It looks like the script is stable with our system MBPr 2012 15" Nvidia 650M + INTEL4000 using OS 10.10 as errin told me coupple of days ago, I didn´t test it allready.
  5. Wow goalque, it´s really courious, the main reason of my eGPU proyect is that I think that I have exactly these problem. Sometimes I have strange behaviour with the grafics, strange psicodelical images when you resize a windows or move between monitors, and another thing is that when it boots osx always have external black screen, so i have to disconect te external screen and connect it again. Couple mouths ago I speak with Apple Care and went to apple store, they pass a couple of tests with no problems detected... I was surprise because in my oppinion the main problem was the really high temperatures reached by de mbp without fan control (Dota 2 105 celsius... to much for the system), and when in the apple store made what it was supposed to be a temperature test, the macbook remained cold, (i was touching the aluminium near the processor) I thoutgh then a possible solution would be a egpu to process the graphics of the system and release the internal components decreasing the internal temperatures. Well I foun´d another oficial apple service and its probable that they replace me the motherboard. Anyway somthing really amazing happen today, the eGPU is working solid and stable in Windows 8.1, with no extra software in bootcamp installation¡¡¡¡ Since I tried a lot of different things I can tell that the problem has been resolved doing one or all of this thing: - Change the thunderbolt conection on the Akitio (I´m using the upper plug) - Uninstall the Script is OSX and uninstall Nvidia Web Drivers - Install BootCamp 5.0 instead 5.1... The actual state: - I´ve reboot the system many times with no problems everything plugged, - I shut down the system and the eGPU and start again with no problems - Internal and external screen are working - Both cards are in use 650M and 660ti - Unigine Heaven has now 806 Score vs 692 Score in OSX - When I close the internal screen it remains on - If I use the thunderbolt ethernet adapter conected to the macbook the eGPU don´t work at all I´ll post a couple of pictures later. Really happy but I would like to uderstand what happend here...
  6. I´be been trying reconcile my GTX 660ti with many methods in windows but I´m starting to thing that is something wrong with the model of the card and windows, I tried with win10 and win 8.1 with no results. As I been using the eGPU with the 660ti and OS X with instability but fully working I know that my setup is working fine. Is your 660 working with the akitio? Please, Can you explain me the steps you followed to recognize the card in windows? Thank you
  7. No luck with -skipdriver option, kernel panic again. I´m thinking that the problem comes with the GTX660 IT, in Windows has been imposible to detect the card with many methods, but always black screen and reboot. Do you know someone using a 660 ti with Akitio? As fas as I know I fond no one with this setup working... I´m going to paste the error report maybe can help you, for my is like egipcian... Just tell me if you need I try anything else. Thank you so much for your support ERROR Anonymous UUID: 6C5D7BF2-D3D8-F327-ABC0-A1F328004955 Thu Nov 26 17:09:21 2015 *** Panic Report *** panic(cpu 0 caller 0xffffff7f8c902bad): "GPU Panic: [<None>] 8. Ok, I´ve been trying different combinations no one is stable with v0.9.6: 1- Automatic gfxCardStatus = NOT STABLE 2 - Force dGPU with gfxCardStatus + ClamShell Mode (Rebooting with the Macbook Screen closed) = NOT STABLE (Internal screen is not recognized by the system And shows frezed image 3- Force iGPU = NOT STABLE (Start system without external screen connected to te eGPU force the iGPU and reboot, without that is not possible to force it) 4- Force iGPU + ClamShell Mode = NOT STABLE (Repeating the steps to disable internal screen in step 2) * I thought this could be the good one So no luck at the moment... What it looks curious to me is that my software monitor iStat Monitor shows the usage if the GPUs and when the iGPU is in use only shows the iGPU in the monitoring screen, but when the dGPU is in use you can see dGPU and eGPU in the monitor software, is like the soft only things that the eGPU is connected when the OS is using the dGPU when in fact in both situations eGPU is in use Last one is with Heaven benchmark running
  9. Hi guys my name is Charly from Spain. You can see my setup in the signature, but I,m buying probably the Zotac 970 that fit in the Akitio next black friday. At the moment eGPU is not working right in OS X 10.11.1, the problems look like is my 650M iGPU but still finding a solution, now I´ve just installed Win 8.1 and I´m going to try with nando soft. This forum is great, really nice and smart people¡¡¡
  10. Wow that's really good news, Im installing 10.11 in external USB Drive and confirm. errin, Do you get Windows to work with the eGPU? I installed nando soft but can´t find the graphic card card before the compaction, I spend some time with it but I was not pretty sure that my eGPU implementation was working or not so i concentrate in OSX, now i know that is functional so i´m trying again, Any suggestion?
  11. Thank you, I understand know. Newer cards as 970GTX have official drivers or the problem is in all Nvidia cards? Im buying 970 gtx this week but this makes me thing about AMD cards. In your opinion which option is smarter? Rigth now is late in Spain and so tired but tomorrow will try all combinations in 0.9.6. and explain everyting
  12. FORGET THIS JUST CAN`T FIND DELETING THE POST errin this Is exactly the same with my mbpr, last kernel panic was during Safari browsing so i can't find any clear pattern in what Is causing The problem. Next i'm going to force igpu, i'll tell you any news Is your egpu working in Windows? I'll try wirth nando soft but Is not finding the egpu
  13. First of all, thank you for your great job and sorry for my bad english... My setup is : MBPR 2012 GTX 650M Akitio 2 GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB PSU (450W) + Barrel adaptor -> Akitio + Molex to PCIe Conectors -> GeForce I´ve used Version 0.9.6 as you recommendation for dGPU and I´m having random kernel panics after a frozen display. I´ve used -clpeak with no problems and also Engine Heaven also with no problems. I have two questions: 1- Do I need to install BETA drivers? I am not pretty sure if you are saying this to errin 2- As the problem looks like comes from how the system manages the internal GPU, Is it important to set up an specific configuration for te uses of the internal cards? I´m referring to disconnect automatic graphic change in settings or force the system to use only one card wit gfxCardStatus (I´m testing now disabling automatic changes and force with gfxCardStatus to use only the discrete card and no kernel panics in 2 hours) Thank you for your help and tell me if you need to test anything with my hardware. - - - Updated - - - </none> Looks like we have the same problem with the 650M I´ve the same Macbook as you but with 8GB RAM. Have you try to force the use of the discrete card with gfxCardStatus? 2 hours without kernel panics and benchmarking and video playback... I´ll tell you with final conclusions If you find another solution please tell me. Good luck!! EDIT: Just launch Dota2 in Steam and another shutdown... force de discrete card did´t work</none>
