  1. When I run sudo ./automate-EGPU.sh, I get this error: nvram: Error getting variable - 'csr-active-config': (iokit/common) data was not found Boot into recovery partition and type: csrutil disable Does anyone know what the problem might be? My setup is a MBR 15 inch late 2013 (switchable to GT 750m OSX 10.11.2 GTX970 mini Akitio Thunder 2 enclosure with 220watt Dell Power Brick
  2. @Dschijn I'm not sure if you mentioned this before, but does the model of the 92mm fan matter? If not, whats the amount of air moved by the ones you have?
  3. Is there an non-Google translate English version of the review?
  4. My question is how would they ensure compatibility across the osx platforms, and also how, if attempted, will they ensure plug n play capability with bootcamp partitions.
  5. The cable described in the link is no longer there , but I see. Ok cool I see see what you're saying about the fans. I think I will try the splitter method as soon as I am able to cut an openning in the case.
  6. You mean something like this, and then a Y cable for 2 PWM connectors for full sized fans correct? Also is there a specific reason you chose to go with the Noctua brand?
  7. @Dschijn, would it be possible to use the fan power connectors already present on the zotac 970 to power larger fans closer to the outer case wall? This way, the GPU itself would be able to control the fan speed.
  8. I literally laughed out loud when I saw this post because he is using the exact same parts as my current upgraded configuration. However, I do not have a direct access to efficient metal cutting tools, so I was unable to cut a clean whole in the side of the box to allow adequate airflow through the box. I did like the method he used to allow direct airflow using a series of holes because all it requires is a drill, which I do have. My question: without the large slit at the top-front of the case for wires (I just filed the rails down, and flattened out the PCIE 6pin wires), is there adequate airflow to cool the 970?
  9. Yeah I was too... But then I saw the specs for the refresh: "AMD Radeon R9 M370X with 2GB of GDDR5 memory and automatic graphics switching" It looks like they are switching to AMD, and with AMD's take on driver support, I am not sure how this will perform.
  10. I found the issue. It seemed to the be the PSU was not efficient enough in combination with choice of paperclip.
  11. Hey, I'm new here and wanted to ask a couple of questions; I built a working setup with the Akitio Thunder 2 PCIe box and powered riser with my MBR late 2013 15" back in late Dec with: core i7 4850HQ quad core @ 2.30 GHz GT 750M dGPU 512TB SSD with Win 8.1 Pro UEFI boot EVGA GTX570 SC stock cooler edition 480 Watt Logisys PSU with paperclip method I have finally had time to use it again, however, I found that I am having stability problems after I updated to the newest nvidia driver (350.12); Any game or 3D intensive application will crash after around 1 to 2 mins of game play. I reverted back to the last working set of drivers, 347.99, and it seemed to work. I noticed that the GTX670 was not stable in your build, and I wanted to see if anyone else had tested the 570.
