didn't think about selling my old cards, because I didn't think anyone would buy them. But with selling them in mind the price of new ones isnt that horendous. I will keep an eye open for the parts. after all I have got a buddy to beat at benchmarks since he upgraded his desktop system

the thing with the GPUs is, some of them are stupidly expensive(about 600 to 800€ per card, sometimes with heatsink mostly without). Might be a better idea to keep them and wait till i buy a new 18

Thanks, I'm already looking for the heatsink and the XM CPU. Sadly at the moment there are no HS on ebay but i will keep looking

I have the 2670QM in my M18x r1 (about 3 years old now) and it runs a bit hot i think (about 50-60° at idle), the GPUs are a bit colder. would it help to repaste the heatsinks (cpu and gpus), or should i also look for the stronger heatsink?

I'm entertaining the thougt of upgrading my M18x r1 with a newer/stronger CPU and GPUs. my specs at the moment are: i7 2670QM 2x HD6990m 16Gb RAM (Original) 512Gb Samsung 850PRO SSD 1000Gb Hitatchi Travelstar I think a new CPU with the 3pipe Heatsink would be the best choice but i dont know wich CPU fits and is supported. I would like to keep the GPUs for now because i think they are still pretty fast, if they can work toghether properly (some games dont realy like Xfire) Any Suggestions?
