  1. Ok thank you for all the informations. So in conclusion, for Alienware 17 120hz, you just need windows 8.1 (UEFI, legacy disabled) then plug 980m or 970m, and use modded driver?
  2. Hi all I need advise about the 880m vbios compatibility. Is some of you using it with the Alienware 17 120hz screen? Can you give us your feedbacks here? Is there any bug/problem with the 120hz Alienware 17 880m? Thank you in advance to help me!
  3. phila_delphia Thank you for the information. I was looking for the benchmark score on 3Dmark 11 Performance.

  5. Is there another test on 3dmark 11 for the 980m?
  6. In conclusion, this vbios is not fully compatible with the alienware 17 120 hz screen? The problem is when it runs on battery, if the screen is not set on 60hz it crash. I'm right?
  7. I need more precsion about the compatibility with the 120hz 3D alienware 17 r5 (880m). Can I use the modded vbios without issue?
  8. Does using the 880m 8gb vbios mod avoid the nvidia flag? (which downclok the gpu after few crashes) I'm using 337.88 drivers.
  9. Hi all, I'm french so, excuse me in advance for my english. I've just bought a alienware 17 from my brother: i7-4700MQ / 17,3 WLED HD+ (1600 x 900) / 8Go DDR3L 1600MHz (4Gox2) / 240W / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 880M with 8GB GDDR5 This was a good deal, but as said all over the web, the 900p screen is very bad quality (grainy and poor gamut). I want to update the screen, I've searched around and find that from Dell there is only 2 others choices: - 1920 x 1080 / 60 hz matte or - 1920 x 1080 / 120 hz 3D glossy But on laptopscreen.com I've found other screen compatible with the AW 17: https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/model/Dell/ALIENWARE%2017/ Have you some informations about theses (gamut, feedback etc...)? IS all theses screen really compatible with the AW 17? I'm interested by the 1920 x 1080 / 60 hz glossy (Item ID: 720863) . Because I want the optimus (which is disabled on the 120 hz) and I prefer glossy screen. Thank you for your help
