hi ganjax, no i dont i will take some next time i have it apart. i used parts from a clevo p170m heatsink and asus g73jh heatsink and i still have to add 1 more heat pipe befor i can start to over clock without having to wurry about heat.

no not meny mods just a fuw heatsink mods and i still need to add an extra heat pipe temps at for regular use are around 30c - 40c then when gaming it cranks up to 75c to 85c

... well the score's are getting better now. thanks to jmhdj who gave me a hand with the drivers and its working better the latest score is around 7450 3dmark11 :

im not planing to overclock it until i get the extra heat pipe added. but i am very happy with its performance.

its the modded vbios that was on my MYTHLOGIC clevo 7970m

if you know some1 with a crossfire laptop put it in as the secound card and then see what happens and what info you can bring up on the screen. then try to flash it that way..

oh ok thats a better ider svl7.... i think its this one.. i have now sold my g73jh with 7970m i still have the files tho. i shell need to check but i think it was this 1.

@svl7 Nvidia fixed the blank screen bug.

I finnished my upgrade and internal lcd is working now. Have installed latest beta 320.14 driver i had to modify inf file though. But core does not go above 150mhz even that gpuz reports normal speeds. Nvidia inspector hwinfo and other programs report that core is not going above 150mhz. Even with 150mhz 680m is on pair with 460m. With 460m I got 1829 points on graphics and with 680m 1920 points. If svl7 read this can you share some thoughts please. I use 670mx vbios from asus g75vxit is only one that posts on internal lcd.

hello svl7 were you able to get the 8970m working agan by soldering a new pre programed Vbios chip to the msi 8970m? did you try it ? or was it compleatly bugged and unfixable after flashing the 7970m? was it the clevo hm7970m enduro off vbios that you flashed the 8970m with?

ultimate7 did you get your 7970m working... i only just seen this message ....i have a good vbios. its from a MYTHLOGIC 7970m works the best out of all that i had tried. it works with clevo hm series, w880cu, w870cu, asus g73jh. and kind of works on samsung series 7 gamer np700g7a but in that case i havnt been able to get the fans to function , from what i have been told its to do with the ec tho..but thats another story for another thread...

but yer if you need the MYTHLOGIC 7970m vbios let me know.

you can use clevo but you have to flash it with non eundro clevo hd 7970m vbios , and dell card works on g73 without any vbios flash . clevo card needs non eundro vbios or else it wont work.

and card works with stock asus bios.

There is no hardware difference, you got those results because it is the wrong vBIOS...

...careful it is the BR44618.001 "non Enduro" one for P570WMx & P370SMx, the file above is not named correctly...

Here are the correct files for "Enduro" and "Non Enduro" Clevo cards, (which I had btw sent to your mail yesterday)

i did the same thing in a clevo w880cu with the same 40 pin screen 120hz samsung screen it fryed my motherbord and the screen. tho i have never found out exactly what has cased this to happen as both screens have the same 40 pin connector. its been bugging me ever sence as to why it didnt work dous anyony have an in depth ansear as to why it didnt work? would love to know ... maby then i could find a way to make it work.

Do you mind sending me your vbios / posting it here? I just want to take a look at it, seems as if someone messed with it.

By the way, HM users don't really need to get a pre-flashed card, you can also just buy any 7970m, install it and the blind flash the card with the proper vbios.

I'm new in your community, and my actual project made me make the step in posting a new thread

Here is my actual problem :

I purchased a Dell 7970m mxm card hoping this one will work on asus G73jh. My laptop was already modified with heatsink "adjustments" for a clevo 6970m

the installation was made carefully, checking vrms contact with the gpu heatsink, and the result was that the system has POST, but the main screen didn't display anything, but was powered on... The HDMI out was also working great... I have too a issue with drivers, but I think a clean install will fix this problem.

To go further in my upgrade, I need a new vbios that will change output scheme from the one I actually have. I know that it is vbios that redirects outpus (from my last upgrade, I flashed my clevo 6970m to dell 6970m to get my hdmi working).

That's why I'm asking you guys, if anyone succeed in dumping is 7970m clevo vbios, please share it with me so I can try to make this card work on my laptop

So my motive to flash my vbios is the main screen non-displaying problem, and not the fan full speed issue (@evgasr2 )
