  1. Does your first test had bricked the card? Is this the experimental one that Killerinstinct had tested?
  2. http://forum.techinferno.com/general-notebook-discussions/1847-nvidia-kepler-vbios-mods-overclocking-editions-modified-clocks-voltage-tweaks-149.html#post40363 Your laptop must have minimum this bios version to be compatible with clevo .33 and .67 vbios. You can found the bios Clevo BIOS Thread
  3. You can expect a gain of 50 % stock to 80-90% oc. http://forum.techinferno.com/clevo-sager/1924-p150hm-gtx680m-yes-we-can-3.html#post27637 But if you attempt an extreme OC superior to 954Mhz, you need to have a psu > 180W and optimize the cooler system.
  4. I hope that your problem will be resolved soon It will be great to have the GTX680M recognized by the P150HM without driver mod.
  5. P170HMx/NP8170 « Prema Mod "Is this Bios modification allready out ?" Not yet
  6. Hi andiii Your bios is fine, so i advise you the clevo 80.04.33.00.10 ov 1v for your card. Remember to backup your vbios first
  7. I haven't say that, i said that, maybe, your laptop (or the PSU itself) had put your psu in security due to overload, then your laptop was powered by your battery before the shutdown (maybe you don't saw that, it could be a matter of second)
  8. Maybe your battery was damage during the overload. I have a PSU overload in Far Cry3, after the shutdown, i boot up my machine and saw that my battery was @85% (it was fully charged before the shutdown). I think that the overload put first my PSU in security, then the laptop drawn his 195W on the battery, and finally the battery goes in security mode causing the shutdown. Fortunately it wasn't damage (but i don't use the max ov version like you). Laptop battery are not made to power the machine at so high wattage.
  9. Modded .inf pour nvidia 310.90 Whql https://hotfile.com/dl/191164949/1868af2/nvcv.inf.html Modded .inf pour nvidia 313.95 bêta https://hotfile.com/dl/191165068/829854c/nvcv.inf.html Hope that Prema will find a way to make the GTX680M recognize by the P150HM's bios like he did with his P170HM.
  10. @Vlad: you have a 180W psu MSI Notebook Official Website - Product Preview Page
  11. Try to unplug the psu and the battery of your laptop, then push the power on button (to discharge the condensator) ... after that, plug your battery and try to power on your laptop. Your laptop is shutting down due to an overload on your PSU (if you have a 180W PSU don't try ov superior to 1v, the 1v overvolt can overload your psu in certain circumstance, so ov superior to 1v could damage your PSU) If you have a 180W PSU buy a wattmeter to measure the consumption at the outlet.
  12. i found a way to bypass overload, this issue affect only few games (at that moment only far cry 3) i overclock my LCD refresh rate to 80Hz, and then, i enable nvidia adaptative vsync. So when i launch the level lost expedition, it limit the max fps and then the power drawn goes down. I hope that you will make a tutorial on how to mod the 240w PSU cheers
  13. @Clyde: you are right. And like he has a P170hm with 220W PSU he can flash an msi ov version without overload risk of his psu.
  14. Hi I use 310.90 but the shutdown is not driver related. you are right your 180W psu is overloaded, so the laptop shutdown to prevent damage. I have got the same problem with MSI ov 1v but only with Far Cry 3, i record a peak @ 200w, which is huge for a 180w psu. I decide to flash the card with msi 80.04.33.00.24 oc edition with stock voltage (0.987v) and oc to a max 980/2400. You won't notice a huge difference in game (only 20mhz less - 1 or 3 fps less). Yes the msi fd bios works with P150HM, but they are less stables than the msi final (sometimes the card stay at idle clock when you launch 3d app). You can try this one : http://forum.techinferno.com/general-notebook-discussions/2062-using-your-4gb-gtx-680m-its-safest-full-potential.html But it's also a 1v ov so i think it will overload your psu too. Good luck
  15. flash the msi revised V2, with 0.987V seem stable @980Mhz/2400. I have tested also the msi revised v2 ov 1.0v and i am not stable @1006/2400 on the contrary of the first revision.
  16. @omega : I don't know if the MSI GT683R is compatible with the GTX680M, but being compliant to optimus or not isn't a problem at all. Clevo P150HM/170HM aren't optimus compliant, and the card work very well on it.
  17. Have you flashed the two card like SVL7 show in their guide? "SLI users will need to flash each card separately. The concept stays the same, but you will need to use the corresponding adapter index to flash a card. How to figure out the adapter nr. is described above. Flashing goes like this: Code: nvflash -i[index] -6 vbios.rom</pre> [index] represents a number, namely the index you found with the 'nvflash -a' command. So a command example to flash a card which has index 0 is: 'nvflash -i0 -6 vbios.rom' http://forum.techinferno.com/general-notebook-discussions/2166-%5Bguide%5D-nvidia-vbios-flashing.html
  18. The safe vbios in a P1X0HM are the Clevo 80.04.29.00.01 and MSI 80.04.33.00.24 ov 1.000v. The clevo vbios has a 3d voltage of 0.962v (stock voltage with this vbios) it allow an OC at max 954 core 2400 memory (may vary in function of the quality of your card) and give you a 3dmark score of 7600-7850 (in function of your cpu). Msi 80.04.33.00.24 ov 1.000v has a 3d voltage of 1.0v it allow an OC of 1006 core 2400 memory (may vary in function of the quality of your card) and give you a 3dmark score of 8000-8130 (in function of your cpu). If you want to reach those frequencies safely, You Must also cool your laptop with a notebookcooler and do some mod on your backplate in order to give more fresh air to the gpu. At that moment the MSI 80.04.33.00.24 OC edition vbios (without OV) seem to have bug and give a voltage of 1.012v. All others vbios will make your GTX680M unusable on your P170HM (the card will not be bricked but it will block the boot process, and you will be unable to restore a backup vbios unless you put your card in a P1XXEM laptop series) PS: make a backup of your vbios before flashing your card (nvflash -b backup.rom) PS2: Be sure to be in the latest BIOS for your P170HM http://forum.notebookreview.com/sage...er-models.html
  19. hi Manuel, welcome you can find the vbios here http://forum.techinferno.com/general-notebook-discussions/1847-nvidia-kepler-vbios-mods-overclocking-editions-modified-clocks-voltage-tweaks.html You need to have five posts to obtain the right of downloading file ... or be a techInferno elite member for 5$ If you got a P150HM, only MSI 80.04.33.00.24 and Clevo 80.04.29.00.01 are compatible. Other vbios will make your laptop unbootable. Cheers
  20. @bn880: without my modded backplate but with a notebookcooler, i have reached a max 89°C with the ov1.000v playing crysis 2 during hours, without FN +1, and without throttling of the card. with modded backplate 82°C. @supermi: 1100core /2500 memory is a very extreme OC ... i am pretty lucky with my 1006/2400 OC at 1.0v.
  21. @bn880 it's weird that you have to use an ov 1.05v vbios to reach only 1012Mhz core, did you try the 1.000v ov msi vbios? This -0.05v will help you, run your card cooler.
  22. @Clyde : I have only a 180w psu and i have to contain the power of the beast, so a Msi vbios with 0.987v will be welcome ... Msi ov 1.000v or 1.012v are stable but could in certain case overload a 180W psu. I know that you mod your PSU to bypass this limit, i am not able to do so.
  23. it's weird ! A stock factory voltage of 1.012v seem pretty high while the gt70 has only a 180W PSU ... "MSI card should only be flashed with MSI vbios, is that right ?" Don't know .. depend a lot of the Bios, my P150hm is compatible only with the Clevo 80.04.29.00.01 and all MSI vbios if i try other (like the clevo 80.04.67.00.10) my laptop won't boot anymore. some incompatible vbios let you boot to restore a backup, other won't.
