driver .inf mod is necessary, otherwise the driver install wont detect compatible hardware. bios saying "empty" doesnt really matter though, u can just ignore that as long as u get a display output ure good to go!
-
mostly no. there will be some cpu-hungry games that would profit from a stronger cpu, but in generall u should be good to go
-
where are you located? how about CEG with 835€ per card including 12 months warranty from clevo? http://www.clevo-extreme-gaming.com/category/nvidia
-
ha, nice to see so many alienware brothers coming over to the clevo side of life enjoy that monster fox! my batman also arrived today
-
ull have to check his website, since hes on travels atm and probably wont be answering anytime soon
-
sure, just check the respective section for your machine on the prema website
-
his mod isnt for the allowance of overclocking though. all drivers except 347.xx ones allow overclocking at stock
-
i can recommend these: Mr. Fox's GeForce Desktop Driver Mod for 780M, 880M and 980M Mobile GPUs | NotebookReview
-
yep, dual channel is definitely worth it...
-
so there is a 347 driver version where u can still overclock? i thought the whole 347 series was locked...
-
just staying optimistic here, the alternative would spell doom for ANY notebook overclocker out there
-
as long as its just a blockage in the driver package it shouldnt be too hard to figure out how to circumvent that. someone will do it at some point, im sure of that
-
sounds like it might not be related to either vbios/bios or gpu. have u monitored ur cpu behaviour? if thats fine then it might also be either ur hard drive or ram misbehaving...
-
ips screen is coming soon to the p77xzm though... sometime in february i think?
-
desktop cpu FTW, seeing as the mobile models will all be soldered soon....*ugh* besides, that would be a nice sli-companion for batman!

Maxwell GM204: GTX980M / GTX970M / GTX965M

hmmm lets see.... 65 fps at 60% utilization would theoretically result in 108 fps at 100%. scaling from FHD to UHD gives a penalty of roughly 70-80%, lets say 75%, so that would be 27fps left. probably better to stick to 3K DSR then -
nice, keep this up to keep our bios/vbios wizard motivated, people!
-
just wait a little bit until prema has hammered out the last few kinks in his new bios mod for the EM, then the 980M will work in it without flaws
-
right, my bad, havent really concerned myself with the ultra highend cpu models so i wasnt aware of that
-
lol, and gets a whopping 88.5% off the bat, nice
-
interesting indeed! i was just about to say that the cpu only provides 16 lanes anyways, so if the PCH provides another 8 for the gpus then thats it i guess? pure guesswork from my side now

did ur bus interface change when running the render test? if yes, then uve got pcie powersaving enabled, you can disable it in windows power settings. although u dont really lose any performance since it only downclocks at idle. if it doesnt change during the render test it could be something different altogether... edit: that render test is just a quick way to check ur gpus behaviour in a 3D environment
-
maybe uve got pcie powersaving enabled, thus it switches to a lower bandwidth when in idle / 2D mode. should switch back to x16 once in 3D though. check with the built in render test in gpu-z (click question mark)
-
yupyup, will make sure to get u a case of beer once my new rig is in my hands
-
one should change the thread title into "980M" since thats already made compatible to the p150em by prema
