1. 327.23-notebook-win7-win8-64bit-international-WHQL with nvdmn.inf_v327.23_AW_GTX_880M

that you sent me the following Same thing with the 337.88 driver,

giving following crash tests in 3Dmark, and on games.

    anyway thanks.

    Accept any other suggestions .... = /

    Unexpected error running tests.

Workload Single init returned error message: File: device_resources.cpp

    Line: 313

    Function: class eva::com_ptr<struct id3d11buffer=""> __cdecl eva::d3d11::device_resources::create_buffer(const struct D3D11_BUFFER_DESC &,const struct D3D11_SUBRESOURCE_DATA *) const

Expression: hr: DX11 call failed [-2005270523].

    Hardware device removed.

Tried run trine 2 , game not start, bugfield 4, black screen.... just for examples..

    DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED: ID3D11Device::CreateBuffer:

    same...</struct>

I have no direct stabilizer is in the making, reinstalled 337.88, because the problem is of course not the drivers tried 3 and all present the same'' locked'' in 3DMark tests and games ...

I will download the nvinspector, because it's all original not changed anything

Yes I did all that already, just posted the title of curiosity.

ok, that is just way to many problems.

Either your gpu is bad or you need to pull it out and reseat it a few times.

Then maybe a fresh windows install.

  2. Is there anyone else there who has M18X R1 with GTX880M 8GB using the new VBIOS?

Is it just me or am I having problems?

It is not possible .. I've done:

Uninstall the drivers with DDU (the latest)

    Install the VBIOS

driver to respond both in games and in 3DMark.

I've tried with no CPU overclocking

    Have tried with overclocked CPU

I have tried to download the GPU clock

    I've tried older drivers

I've tried the version not steam 3DMark

I await someone who can help me doing a walkthrough of how to install the video drivers and / or having any suggestions ....

My birthday is today, someone gave me a gift.

    Thanks to all

So you can not run 1 880m without crashing on mvbios? But you can on stock vbios? And if so, what was the score?

What was the oldest driver you tried?

  3. I'm talking specifically about the overclocks that have been achieved on the 780M.

    Catzilla Computer Benchmark - ShowTopList

You can see Fox and John's 780M's then my 880M right below John's (although that was out of the box, we will see what happens with the vBIOS mod) - their memory clock rates are 250MHz over ours. It was my understanding that the memory on the 880M isn't going to be able to go that high as is par for the course with larger memory modules. I'll test it out tomorrow, I just got the UPS email telling me they scheduled my desktop parts and my thermal paste from Amazon for tomorrow.

I see you did not pay close attention to my review either. LOL

  4. Most likely my cranium is not soft enough. :D

    I got it now!

The 880M is faster stock than the 780M so I am not sure where you are coming from with this statement.

The 780M and 880M are virtually the same card. The 880M carries more memory and it happens to be better memory to boot if I remember correctly from Johnksss review.

If you have a 780M the 880M isn't worth getting (in my opinion). If you are getting a new system, the 880M is the top card at the moment. That will likely change when nVidia releases whatever will be the Flagship Maxwell flavor.

No worries Brother Smiley. All is good

This 880m is a weird one to say the least.

  5. thk for the link but this modded vbios doesn't works for me, when I install it, my nvidia driver crash again and again and after several times, my windows freeze and I must forced to reboot by pressing the on/off button. :(

    @godfafa, and for you ?

So at stock you crash, is this correct?

What is the bsod code that comes up?

What other error code comes up?

  6. After I read your post I went back and looked at what you did. You definitely did better in your 880M trial. However, all things aren't equal. Overclocked I was pulling close to 240w from the wall on my 230w PSU. Doesn't really matter in my case as I am limited by my thermals anyway.

We are only talking about stock.

And a single 880M/CPU can pull around 330W.

As to your thermals. I would pay more attention to everything else other than the core. The core is not what is causing the problem. And depending on how easy you can tell is based on how you can check your gpu while the machine is on and running.

  7. Hi svl7

    When I flash your moded vbios,in device manager/display adapter,gtx 880M can't be identified.

it became to "Standard VGA Graphic Adapter".

Is this because the moded vbios is dell version?

I just use the moded INF from Laptopvideo2go,so i can install the driver 337.88.

here is benchmark after I flash moded vbios

here is with the original msi vbios

After flash the moded vbios it is not throttling,

but compare to original vbios, 3dmark 11 it just got +500 at stock.

    is this normail?

BTW,here is my original MSI vbios.

Short answer, no. you are a bit off of what a possible stock number should be, but of course this shows in my review of where should be at stock. Or basically with in 200 points.

Sorry, no real explanation for why you are not getting near those numbers.

  8. Hi johnksss,

Can I translate that review of yours into Korean and post it in Alienware Forum of Korean site?

I haven't done it yet but this would be of much help to those of Alienware-lovers in Korea.

I will mention the source and link of your original article. Dont want to steal anything.

If you say yes, I will start translating it.

    Thank you!

    You sir, have my permission.

I only ask one thing. That you post it in it's entirety, please.

  9. It does explain alot, in nvidia inspector i set +135MHz/250MHz with +112.5mV.

    I end up with around 8150 in 3DMark 2011.

On stock frenquency i got between 7950 and 8050 at 3D Mark 2011.

I am sorry for the poor quality on the screenshot, it was showing that even with overclocking, the new nvidia boost feature make my overclock useless. As when the GPU isn't enough loaded, the card simply clock down.

    Not much headroom for overclock!

Actually, no it doesn't, but then that is just my assessment on it.

    This would be explaining allot.
