my question is are the latest drivers for 8.1 safe to use? i also have an AUO panel that i can spare for those testing win 10 on the AW17 R1. will send if there's a person willing to pay for the shipping.

there's a theory that alienware have left the EDID unprotected from writes and if that's true then we are owed that BIOS update.

i just flash prema's vbios 1.1.1 so far so good. also, with the release of the AW18 with 980Ms does that mean we can now get the vbios to test?

Looking at getting a CPU upgrade in the future and I am not sure how to install a new CPU, is there any instructions on how to do this without damaging the CPU pins?

OK, after reinstalling win 8 and got the updates that stupid win 10 icon showed up and i did a report and it said my 980M was not compatible due to lack of nvidia drivers (which is total BS BTW). So i decided to install win 10 and i chucked in a spare HDD and it installed as usual. installed the modded nvidia drivers and it works nicely so far.
