You should stay away from afterburner as it doesn't do voltage control, it never did for mobile GPUs: only nvidia inspector and precision x have voltage control. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

I use nvidia inspector and I believe you can undervolt. Try flashing prema's mod instead, I find it more stable. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

Yes, doesn't matter if it's from prema or svl7...though I prefer prema's mod. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

If you can't get it locally then import it provided the price is reasonable. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

You might just be hitting your GPU's clock limits - no vbios or driver will change what's inherit to your particular chip. GPUs are like people: they're different even though they have the same specs. That's a given but pure luck to get a 980M that will overclock passed 1300MHz. Anything between 1200 and 1300 like 1260MHz should be stable. I have tried anything from 1300+ and it fails. So dial back your clocks and bump up the voltage to 1.072v and do more tests. try my clocks +134 / +295 @ 1.072v with prema's 1.1.1 vbios. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

Just look on eBay for alienware 330w psu. The psu is used on the x51. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

It's not being recognized because the card is not a stock card and hence why unmodified do not work. It's been well documented that this is the case. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

that does not meet the definition of "useful"!

you need a 3-pipe heatsink for the 980M though.

Are you sure you're using the correct inf file for the mode you're using? You can't use the optimus inf for dedicated mode and vice versa. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
