What tool do we use to modify the different voltages we can run? I thought it was Nibitor but that doesn't seem to work.

I use q-tips and isopropyl alcohol.

Is it worth replacing the thermal paste in a laptop?
bartlett replied to Webshooter38's topic in General Notebook Discussions
It can probably yield some decent improvements both for idle and load temps. Get a good, non-conductive paste like Gelid GC-Extreme. The liquid metal pastes are slightly better (10-15% maybe at load), but there are more risks associated with those.- 6 replies

Hmm so that is the case then it seems...is there any way to modify fan behavior via these BIOS? Or perhaps an updated BIOS that will enable fan control?

I am under the impression that the Alienware 17 with A12 BIOS allows for fan control of both the CPU and GPU now? Previously, you could only adjust the CPU fans. If this is indeed the case, then could it be that the modified video BIOS are preventing GPU fan controls?

Yes, your current heatsink should be compatible when you upgrade to a 780M GTX.
