Have you tried removing the faceplate off the ultrabay GPU? When I swapped out my optical drive for a second HD, i could remove the optical drive's plate to use on the HD's bracket. Of course, you won't have the button to press, but you could manually eject from My Computer.

Removing the filters completely is probably a bad idea. Besides the obvious point of more dust getting in, I've heard that some restriction of airflow is slightly better, as it allows the fans to draw the hot air out more efficiently. If theres too much free airflow, the fresh air flowing in will be drawn out more rapidly as opposed to the hot air already inside.

Kinda new to undervolting. Would the Windows version (7/8) installed affect the temperatures and ability to undervolt/OC? I have keys for both 7 and 8, and I plan to pick up a w230st soon without OS, and was wondering which one would be better.
