  1. If You look on the CPU-Z stepping and familly it shows clearly retail versions of those processors. I don't think that he used ES versions. Those guys seems to confirmed this: Locked mobile Haswell unlocked and overclocked..
  2. He didn't overclock K chip. He did that with i7-4600M:CPU-Z VALIDATOR and with I7-4700MQ:CPU-Z VALIDATOR.
  3. Anyone could shed some light on this subject:Interview with 0.0: Overclocking Locked Mobile CPUs. it's not explained with details but I'm sure that we have some clever guys who can do that as well.
  4. it looks like Your gpu is just renamed gt540m based on GF108 core. It's even clocked like reference 540m 672MHz. It really hard to find bga layout for GF108, but using phase N12P which is codename for this family bring some results and GF108 and GFf106/116(it seems that both 106 and 166 core use that same layout) look nothing alike. They are completely different.
  5. It would be much safer to use vbios for the card with Samsung ram. Quick search, actually not that quick, and it looks like there are some laptops which use gt640m with samsung ram -lenovo z580, toshiba satellite p855, Dell 3450, 7420, L521X ass well. But You would have to check and make sure for 100% yourself. All of them are 88Kb and with certificates at the end. The best way in my opinion would be extracting vbios for 640m and simply inserting it into the main bios, not replacing any existing vbios Option ROM modules. Apparently You can do this, look here:BIOS Modding Guides and Problems » [Guide] Manual AMI UEFI BIOS Modding. That will allow You to check, still with old graphic card if inserting new vbios was successfull and if main bios is working correctly. And if something would be wrong You could recover bad bios much easier. Soldering new gpu and inserting new vbios at same time seems as much more risky move because You would not know what is exactly wrong if something would went wrong, I mean with vbios or physically with gpu chip.
  6. Couldn't You just use function "insert" and add this extra vbios to the orginal bios?
  7. Damm it really exist. It's 20V 17.5A 350W HP CLGYA-0804, 466954-001. It looks like it's for HP Firebird VoodooDNA 802 and 803 Desktop PC. here is link: Cheap 350W 17.5A 20V Hp CLGYA-0802 Hp CLGYA-0802 Laptop AC Adapter & Power Supply Charger | ACbattery.co.uk
  8. If that's the specs of Your laptop:https://docs.sony.com/release/SPECS/vgnnr220es_mksp.pdf, then that mean, that it have GL960 chipset and can support only up to 800MHz FSB C2D. The best cpu will be T9500 2.6GHz (6MB), but it's rather expensive. Next in line T9300 2.5GHz (6MB) is much more affordable. And they're little bit slower processors, but still very capable and much cheaper like: T8300 2.4GHz, T8100 2.1GHz (3MB) or T6600 2.2GHz, T6500 2.1GHz (2MB). The best way to be sure what northbridge You have is by running CPU-Z. It will show that under the tab "Mainboard".
  9. If You are lookin for suitable mini itx motherboard, check thin series. That's kind of new low profile mini itx standard. Its only 25mm hight and with sodimm. Power is delivered by laptop style brick not by standard 24 pin connector, up to 2 mini pci-e connectors, LVDS connector. That's the way to go I think. Eg. : GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1155 - GA-B75TN (rev. 1.1), GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1155 - GA-H77TN (rev. 1.1), https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Q87T/, ASRock > Z77TM-ITX.
