From my experience with computers and laptops especially I can tell you that it is to me almost 95% sure that your motherboard or bios (chip, not software inside) is damaged and you should (if possible) submit a warranty claim. I have a problem with battery as it will only charge if I plug the cord when laptop is off and battery out and placed back after computer is powered on without battery; but this happened due to using the reset battery meter option in lenovo power manager which results in damaging the motherboard. My guess is that your issues are caused by something similar.

So, is there any chance to flash the 2.07 bios using the method for 8.01 (As I mentioned I can't do it from windows since flashing utility says the rom is not newer than the current one)? Do I need to change anything in the procedure? svl7 please answer me

Maybe try to pull out your hard drive, so that only device you can boot from is the usb?

But The insydeflash tool won't let me flash the 2.07 version saying that it is not newer than my current bios. How can I solve it then? edit: Inside of the folder there is a file called "QIWY3207.ROM" is it the bios? If so, can I use the v.8.01 procedure to flash this file from dos?

My actual bios version is 2.07, when I try to flash 2.07 version from svl InsydeFlash says that this rom isn't never than my bios and quits. What should I do? Try to use v.8.00 ?

Battery life will not be reduced if it sits inside the laptop as it will charge only when it runs lower than 95% and it won't happen quickly. Modern batteries made of lithium get worn very slowly when charged from like 80-90%. They wear quicker if discharged completetly.

This is a warning post, do not use the reset battery meter (or some similar name, I do not use english version of the driver) function in lenovo energy management driver. For most of the users (including me ) it ends up with damaging the motherboard which result in trouble with charging battery and running it on AC. After this damage being done, in order to charge battery or just run your laptop on AC you have to: 1. turn it off or hibernate (sleep doesn't work for that), 2. take out the battery, 3. take the power cord off the wall socket for a few seconds, 4. then plug it into the wall socket and your laptop, 5. then turn the laptop on 6. and then put the battery in. If you just plug your ac cord to the laptop while it is running on battery it won't work, laptop will keep running on battery and will not start charging as it will not "see" the cord. The only known fix for this issue is sending your laptop to Lenovo service with a warranty claim and they will either replace motherboard or whole laptop. However if anyone knows other fix for this issue, I would be really glad to get to know it as it is my only computer at home and I cannot send it to service because I need it for everyday work (On-Site warranty is not available in my coutry, shame).

Did anyone try to undervolt their CPU using this unlocked BIOS? If so, did it improve the battery life?
