  1. Mine was ahead by a few days when I first bought it. But when it went into the depo they were behind.
  2. I had used it for a little while and the start up was so terribly long that I stoped. (Talking about 5 to 6 minutes compared to 1 to 2 minutes) **** Never mind that was the previous released one my bad ****
  3. With my R3 when I had the Nvidia 460M I ran into driver issues and was told both from Dell (AlineWare) and Nvidia that the only drivers they will run with are the ones available on Dells Driver Download. I too looked at the laptopvideo2go and go figure the updated driver for the GTX460M was not avalable. Not sure if you found these but I went looking and found and URGENT update for the BIOS for 460M vid card Drivers and Downloads | Dell [united States] Also found this vid card update Im sure you found this one for sure. Drivers and Downloads | Dell [united States]
  4. Are you having issues with the 460M and gaming where the screen kind of flickers every once in a while and goes black? </SPAN>
  5. No they wont charge you a fee. My wifes HP laptop came from China and everything it need for shipping was included in the price we paid.
  6. Wowzers what is taking them so long for your unit?
  7. Well the tech brought the parts over yesterday to install them. They sent a mother board, 6970 graphics card, and a palm rest. Well we figured to install the graphics card first thinking all would be fine afterwards. Well as soon as it was booted back up the fuzzy screen was back... It was a good thing they sent a motherboard as the tech replaced that and it booted up just fine so hopefully all stays that way for awhile. So that is the end of the fuzzy screen dilemma </SPAN>
  8. So I was looking on Alienware here a moment ago rebuilding my system and I noticed that the ATI Radeon 6970M is no longer an option and now the Nvidia GTX 580M that same card the supervisor wants to put me in is the only one available. Does anyone know why this is the case? Did the radeon have problems?
  9. Yeah you are telling me lol. Well got a call from the tech that is going to be doing the work this morning (Same one as before) and he stated that he had the work order for me but no parts. So I called Dell up this morning and wanted to know why they weren’t here as the rep last night said they had shipped and would be here this morning. Well now not only is the palm rest (why I am getting that I have no idea) is back ordered and the video card is now as well. I asked to speak to his supervisor and wanted to know what my options where. Well he said he would check into it and see if the part really was backordered or if they just put that in the system to build their inventory. He actually called me back and stated that it was supposed to be available tomorrow but might not be able to be shipped now until Monday? WTF! Well he then said that another option would be to upgrade my card in his terms to a NVIDIA 580M. I currently have the Radeon 6970M and I have been really happy with it. I had a NVIDIA 460M before but it wouldn’t work with DOW2 which is my game of choice. (NVIDIA said it was a driver issue and Dell needed to update there drivers which calling Dell they wouldnt do since they had in there words never heard of a problem with it before) So my question is should I wait for my Radeon or go with the 580, they are both 2 GB cards. </SPAN>
  10. Yeah it is, funny you mentioned the warranty. I told the rep (Alex) last night "so after a year when my warranty is up I am going to have a three thousand dollar paper weight?" Really just sad how there customer support is setup. But I will for sure give you all a notice once I hear from the repair tech.
  11. Thanks Guys well just got my unit back yesterday. Would love to tell you all that everything is great. If I did that I know you all would think I was full of it. Well the screen blurriness is gone, BUT they failed to reinstall my graphics card. So no gaming for me again lol. Called tech support and like I expected they have sent the parts out and they were supposed to be here today. They sent a new graphics card, mother board, and a keyboard assembly. Well the parts didn’t show up. Called them just a few minutes ago and they said the reason it didn’t show up was that a part was backordered for a day. WOW never heard that before. So now it is supposed to be here tomorrow. Well they are now going to replace the parts that were supposed to be replaced when it was sent to the depot. Only thing they did there was replace a LCD cable and my video card. Well I guess it should have read replaced LCD cable, Removed Video card to mess with client took home and sold on eBay. Well I will let you all know what tomorrow brings. </SPAN>
  12. Another update for you all. After about 3 weeks of harassing them about getting me my computer back to me I finally got a call yesterday that it is on its way. Apparently the parts were on back order. Seems like they must be having allot of issues. I will let you all know once I get the damn thing what they all replaced and if it is fixed. </SPAN>
  13. Update for you guys. Service tech (nice guy) came and replaced the screen. His first comment was I just worked on one of these the other day and did a mother board replacement due to recall. I was thinking oh great, well after he replaced the screen the screen was still blurry. So he had both of the video cards to replace as well. The problem we ran into with this is that the bracket on the AMD card looked like it was glued on. The tech called support and they wanted the laptop sent in to a dell service facility. Well the tech advised me to remove the hard drive so that they wouldn’t just reformat it. Well computer went out today. So I will let you guys know what happens. Kind of thinking it maybe the mother board, the tech thinks so as well due to the fact that the screen and video cards are all connected through the mother board.
  14. Called tech support and they overnighted the screen. Got a call yesterday for the repair from the Dell Authorized (what ever that means lol) repair to have it installed. Told him it would have to wait until Monday. So I will let you guys know how it goes from there.
